Any Young and The Restless watchers? - Jeanne Cooper

Jeanne Cooper aka Katherine Chancellor  passed away today. 

She's been really sick recently and her son has been  posting updates on FB for the fans.

I have watched this show since I was little.  She was always awesome, so grand.

I love her. It makes me sad that the shows I am watching now is it. I wonder how they will write this into the show.

They'll have to do something like a setback from the recent surgery I guess.

Oh, so sad!! She was the matriarch of the whole show!

She has looked so frail this year and once I heard she'd been in the hospital, I felt like this last storyline was her final curtain call. I'm sad to see her and Katherine go!!

I actually thought they might have her pass away from her recent brain surgery, given her failing health. I was surprised that she made it. I agree with ddi741. They'll probably have her die from some sort of setback.

I'll miss her arguments with Jill.

Aw, this is so sad What will Nikki and Jill do without her? Everyone loved Katherine Chancellor.

And I had no idea Corbin Bernson was here son, even when he appeared on the show!

I hope they write her out of the show and don't try to re-cast. Michael Learned stood in for her a few years ago. It was hard to watch. So awkward.

Oh, gosh, there is NO way the fans would stand for a recast. I'm sure they will have her pass away on the show and have a grand send off once the cast is ready. I've watched the show for 20+ years and felt such a connection with my late grandma. So sad!

Yes Katherine's funeral will be epic. I hope they let each character say a few words. She had such a strong relationship with Jill, Nikki, Victor and Esther, poor Esther and so many others.
I'm sure they'll bring Brock back and they can do flashbacks from the beginning.


I watched Y&R for years, then stopped for about 8 years and then got back into it a few years ago for a few months while I was out of work. I started DVRing it when I got a job and watch it every night when I get home.
