I've had an HSG before, but I had the next day off of work already (day before holiday) and took it easy just as a precaution. I don't remember any negative side effects besides a few hours of slight cramping immediately following the procedure. I have a second one (new dr.) scheduled for Friday afternoon, but I have plans both Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's plans involve helping my parents, DH, aunt, and uncle move items - including furniture - out of my deceased uncle's house. My parents do not know about our IF and these plans were made well before the HSG was scheduled because my aunt lives OOT and has limited availability. Obviously I don't want to have any discomfort, but I also don't want to hang back when they're going to need my help (though admittedly, they need DH's help the most, lol). I should be fine, right? I anticipate starting around 10-11AM and my HSG is at 12:30 the day before, so that's nearly 24 hrs of "recovery" should I need it.
I know everyone is different but I didn't have any issues after. I didnt even have cramping. It seems that even if the procedure is a bit uncomfortable/ painful most people still go back to work the same day or after. I think you'll be OK with your plans.
If you have cramping could you just pass it off as period cramps to family? That's what i'd tell mine. And they wouldnt think anything of it.
I didn't have any issues either, and would have been fine with those plans. I had my HSG done at lunch and I went right back to work and finished the day. I had some minor cramping, but by the next day I felt 100%.
I had some moderate cramping while the procedure was being done, but I felt absolutely fine as soon as it was finished and could have gone back to work, but I had taken a half day already.
I was fine that evening and was completely normal the next day. My dr. Had me take an 800 mg Advil before, although I probably would have been fine without anything.
You should be fine. My HSG was painful during the procedure and I had a little spotting afterward, but I was fine afterward. By the next day, I was completely back to normal.
