I normally wear a 36B (measured at a locally renowned lingerie store) but this says I should be in a 30F. I'm very curious to try on some smaller bands. I can definitely stretch the back when I'm wearing mine.
pixie My band is an inch and half bigger than it was last time I measured, so I am not the same size as you. This time I got halfs when measuring. My band was 28.5 (so I guess round up to 30?)and my bust was 36.5/37. So, I am a US 30G?
How tight are you holding the tape when you get 28.5? If you've still got a little bit of breathing room you might want to consider still trying the 28 band. It will stretch after wearing it a few times and you're only half an inch off, rather than jumping up an inch and a half to a 30. Barenecessities.com is having a sale right now and I just ordered a couple of really cute but basic cut bras for $33 each. I love Freya brand because they have a pretty decent selection for weird sizes, but I'm also trying Panache this time because I've heard good things.

I just tried to see if I could move the 28.5 to a 28 and I couldn't, so apparently decently tight. I was also not using a loose measuring tape, so that may play into it as well. That probably explains the half sizes. I probably should round up to a 29(30) and 37.. so 30H? I've been looking for strapless bras, but I'm not really finding any in either of those sizes. I'm finding some cute regular bras though. So if I order UK sizes for a US 30G, I have to order a UKF and for a US30H , a UKG or UKFF?

I think I just ordered the same bras as you. The Panache t-shirt bras that are on sale? I hope I like them. (28FF here)

If your band is 28.5 and your bust is 36.5, you're at an 8 inch difference. According to the chart (http://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/comments/rh26h/is_getting_fitted_for_a_bra_as_humiliating_as_it/c469bi0) that would mean a UK FF or a US G/H/J.
The nice thing about Freya is that they are UK sizes, which are far less confusing than US sizes. I ordered their Deco Strapless Bra (which is available in a 30FF) a little over a month ago, and it is AMAZING. I have never had a strapless bra that actually worked before, and it absolutely does. Even with a small waist and a big chest, it keeps everything where it needs to be and I don't find myself constantly needing to adjust myself to feel secure while I'm wearing it.

Just wanted to say I have been wearing a 34DD, and according to this video I should be a 32J (US). Went to work and tried on 32J's and they fit so freaking well. MAGICAL.

Yes! I ordered the blue and the black. The design looks a little thin in some places that make me nervous, but I'm tired of wearing a boring nude bra all the time so I figured I'd give them a shot.
I'm so confused over what bra I should be wearing.
I used to wear a 34 DD or a 36 D.
Then Nordstrom told me when I was pregnant that I was 36 G. Those fit great.
According to this I am a 32 G (UK) or a 32 I / J / K (US).
Imma wait until I'm done breast feeding and try this again.
How long are your breast feeding and what bras are you using now? IDK what to do once I go back to work and pump... still use nursing bras?! TELL ME WHAT TO DO!
I'm going to breastfeed for as long as possible. I'll reevaluate at a year, but would love to go to eighteen months if I can.
I'm working from home so am mostly wearing these soft nursing bras from Motherhood Maternity, although I did get two nursing bras from Nordstrom. They're not particularly comfortable and I don't love them.
I haven't read all of the responses but this video really is the way a bra should be fitted. The band should feel very snug. When measuring under our boobs for the band size, measure tightly. It should definitely be snug enough that the band will leave a mark on your skin after wearing the bra, but you want the support to come from the band and not the straps.
studytime45, your cup size sounds right but I can't imagine the band size is correct. Try measuring again making the measuring tape quite snug.
I was measured years ago with this method at a 40D or 38DD and bras this size fit just like the properly fitting bras in the video.
Just to add, bras and comfortable might be a problem... if they are too comfortable they it might be because the band is stretched out. I think there are 4 hour bras and 20 hour bras. I think the key is to find a 10-12 hour one that is comfy enough so you don't want to take it off right away. The band should be tight!
So if you don't have to take your bra off when you get home from work, its band is too big?
