In the winter, yes, because I do not sweat. In the summer, no, because I sweat a ton.
I have twins. I do a lot of laundry. One more load is no big deal to me, especially since its not like I have to fold a sports bra or running shorts. If it's over 70-degrees, I do not run in a shirt (just sports bra). Perhaps this helps the laundry situation. It definitely is good for the budget!
I kinda hate you right now, what with your twins and your super flat tight stomach. I don't even like to pull my shirt up to wipe my face off while running, because, yeah....no one wants to see that.
here is the thing - no one DOES see that! (not that agree with your opinion of your stomach). In the summer here, people just dont wear clothing, especially during the monsoon. I mean, you step outside and you become sweaty! And then your clothing becomes heavy, clings to you, ugggggh. So yes, the solution folks, is to wear less clothing. That is always the solution to everything! </gavel>
I don't think anyone is saying go out and by new running clothes every weekend...but please, every time we have "LLL on sale now!" people freaking rush into the post, then run to the store and get some swag.
I buy running clothes 1-2x a year AT MOST and have enough running clothes and workout clothes to totally make it without doubling up on the nasty.
Let's not pretend we aren't buying workout clothes here. C'mon....some of these things people are saying is just flat ridiculous.
If you like wearing your yucky clothes over and over again--go at it, but don't make some excuse like "OMG THE EARTH!" or "OMG I"M SAVING MONEY."
Please. You enjoy the yuckiness of it. Just say it. Lol.
Yes, that one chick DID say "GO BUY MOAR" and yes, I think you are a judgmental ass.
Sorry if YOU stink. Or just absolutely MUST judge someone. Or have such an apparently low tolerance threshold.
WTF does the state of my gym bag have to do with you?! Why the bold, giant letters to get YOUR opinion across? I'm 100% positive if we pick through your life we'll find a bunch of stuff that just disgusts me..... but since it's not my life I don't give a flying fuck, and I'm pretty sure you should just chill and not be so deliberately rude.
And WTF is this about NOT saving money or the earth?! Do YOU know what my city charges for water? Do you seriously NOT know that most laundry detergents are not good for the earth and any energy saved is good and any water saved is good?! Sometimes it really really is about money/the earth/whatever, if you can't wrap your head around the fact that other people have different priorities than you..... ::sigh:: pitiful.
I think you are taking this rather personally. Her post had some generalizations to it. It was not specific to you.
I think everyone is also picturing their own workout clothing. FMLB average run is 10 miles outside (or at least when she is training). That is different than someone going to an air conditioned gym and walking 2 miles on a treadmill. I am not saying anything poorly of the latter, but I dont think anyone on this board would re-wear their long run clothing. I think?

I'm the one who said go buy more. I can get moisture wicking T-shirts and shorts for $5 at the outlet store nearby. If that's out of your budget, ok, but it doesn't sound like the cost of more clothing is what is preventing most ladies from wearing clean workout clothes each time. If you have three sets of workout clothes, and do wash once a week and add those clothes to the rest of your clothes, the cost/environmental impact is not great.
The original post was asking, Is this gross or not? I'm not sure why it bothers you that I gave my opinion. I think it's gross. There are plenty of people at the gym who stink. Maybe they think they don't stink, but they do. I think you went over the line by calling someone with a different opinion than you pitiful.
I'm sure there are things in my life that you and most people would consider gross. I like to eat an egg on top of my pancakes. If I can't get a tissue fast enough, I will wipe DD's nose with my bare hands to prevent her from eating it. So if I ever write a post saying, "Is this gross?", you are more than welcome to come in and say, "Hell yes!" And I will not call you pitiful.
Sometimes. I hang mine up right away after running and check for stinkiness before putting them on again. I think of it as extending the life of my more expensive pieces.
This is me as well. It depends on how much I've sweat and how stinky the clothes are.
In the winter I would wear my running tights and UA shirt twice but now that I have been sweating, I literally have to peel the clothes off me so they go right in the wash. I am all for conserving but socks being worn more than once is straight up gross

Not taking it personally, but completely disgusted by the childish judgments thrown around. And come.on. Bold giant text = you're 13. THAT is "yucky".
I sweat so much that I cannot imagine wearing mine more than one time before washing. If I didn't sweat, I could probably get away with that. I don't wash my sweatshirts or pants that I start wearing before I warm up every time.
Never. I am totally amazed (and jealous!) by the people who can do this. I am a nasty, sweaty, smelly hog after I work out. I am always washing my workout stuff.
Usually no. I workout in the morning and my gym clothes sit in my car all day and get stinky!
Though I don't remember the last time I washed my swimming suit...
Why would you wash a swimsuit??
I feel like this is a confession, even though I don't know why, exactly: I wash my suits - every time I wear them. I have a LOT of suits (like, at least 10) and rotate, but yeah ... I wear it, strip it off, wring it out, and toss it in the laundry. I do it because I feel gross/weird putting a dirty suit on, even if I wore it into the shower after swimming and wear-washed it. But that's me personally. I don't judge suit multi-wearers or anything.
I sweat a lot and I stink when I run. I do not wear skirts, shorts or tights more than once if I run in them. I usually do not wear tops more than once if I run in them.
However, I wear sports bras more than once (usually twice), and outer layers of tops more than once. If I am lifting only I wear an entire outfit more than once (which is my Costco yoga pants and a tank 9/10 times).
I am also impulsive and lack self control so I have a lot of clothes. But I am also lazy and hate doing laundry. So sometimes, esp. in winter, I wear something stinky if I am running outside. Team gross!

I wash after every wear except for my outer layer during the winter. Though even that usually gets snotted on by my DD after I work out and ends up in the wash after one wear.
