I usually try to do something with my hands when I'm stressed. Most of the time I crochet, but baking a pie or making homemade tortillas is really theraputic for me to... I'm not sure why, but it works. My neighbor calls me "the pie lady" because I never eat the pies, I give them away. All I want is the satisfaction of making one. I'm a wierdo.
I like doing things with my hands, too. We should meet up sometime.
*wink*
Make me a banana coconut cream pie and I will love you forever!

cuddlyevil, I think you are much more brave than I. I would rather die than allow either one of my ILs to accompany DS and myself to a pediatrician appointment! If for no other reason than I wouldn't want to expose my poor pediatrician to their special brand of crazy...

I also love pie! There is a little cafe here that I go to for just pie and coffee all the time. They're always packed because their food and pie are delicious. I might go today now because of your powers of suggestion.

Also, to be an AW, I just posted a pic of my evening gown (mid construction) for shoe suggestions over on S&B. Will you all share shoe/jewelry/hair suggestions here too?

You are fucking ADORABLE and remind me of one of my good friends. I love this color and the bust design is fantastic.

LOL. Well she is pretty normal, she's just a worry wort. Besides, she watches the kids for us and met me at the pedi's office with him.
I just think she assumes since he's feeling better that it's not croup.
Mel, that dress is so pretty! I love the color on you.
For hair, maybe do a side part and then a low, loose-ish bun. I like the idea of chandelier/statement earrings and no necklace. Wear a fabulous pair of shoes. Since it's long, almost anything goes, but something metallic and strappy will probably last you a long time. With that stress you could probably even get away with a bronze-colore.d shoe

I am having a serious first world problem. I am trying to find shoes to wear with my gown. I can't hem it until I know what shoes I am wearing. I have been to five stores and I hate everything! I bought a pair off the clearance rack at DSW because they are OK but I don't love them. Odds are high I will return them but they were the last pair.
I did buy a pair of pink polka dotted wedges at Payless for $11. Those clearly couldn't be left behind.
tiramisu (and anyone else who wants to help) I need some shoes to go with my gown. Since I am volunteering I will be on my feet a lot which means comfort is super important. A small wedge or heel is OK if they are stable and comfortable. I don't really want anything black. I also don't want anything that looks too "evening". I would like to be able to wear them to places and not look like a 6th grader leaving a choir concert. Budget - I would like to spend less than $30 but if the shoe is perfect I would go up to $40 Here are the shoes I think are just meh. They do look nice with the dress.
I am on my phone so I will add more PIPs in a second.
captainmel I know these aren't exactly what you asked for, I was just trying to find some other options that might be somewhat versatile for you. Two of them are Naturalizer, so even though they're heels and not wedges, they should be comfortable.
The higher ed interview went extremely well. The best interview I've had by far. It would be a job I could grow into and expand from within and utilizes my strengths and work history perfectly. She said ill most likely have a 2nd interview next week and bypass the 3rd entirely by combining the team into one big interview.

Gault that's great!! Good luck to you! I'll be thinking good thoughts for you.
Great news Gault! I love that last pair Tiramisu. I agree with the color thing though. I like some of the others but the gala is a week from today so I feel like I might need something from a store. I am going to try TJ maxx later to see what they might have.
