Haven't been on in a bit, I'm open to anything. Franklin Park Zoo may also be a good alternative. Don't you get there from Rt 9? Rt 9 should be no big deal to everyone who hates highways (2 lane, doesn't go faster than 50). $17 for adults, free for kids under 2, there's also stroller rental if someone doesn't bring theirs (double and single).

I was excited about the zoo last time we spoke because I think the kids would have a lot more to see and do. Is the zoo still a possibility? I liked the idea of that a lot!!! If I had my preference, it would be to drive somewhere over having to take the T with a stroller.
Perhaps everyone can throw out their favorite meet up location and then we can vote???
Are the further away ladies like Faevantastic, bean47, JuliaGulia, imimahoney, wildcatprincess able and willing to do something near Boston? I am sorry if I missed anyone, I am not great about remembering where everyone lives.
We need to make this happen, so it would be great to at least confirm that the date is good for all (sorry you can't make it Devon) and then choose a place that everyone can work with. It stinks that some of us don't want to go near the city, and some don't want/can't easily leave the city, lol.
I think we are free, so I'm in! I will drive into Boston/near there. I have CR-V and if some of the NH ladies want to carpool I am open. I live right off of rte. 3 and 95... maybe like 30 minutes from Nashua. Are we thinking with husbands or without?
Bean- You are near Manchester right? Wilcat-I forget where you live???
Yes. It only takes me about 45 minutes to get to Boston since I'm right off the highway. Count me in for coming wherever we decide in or put of Boston!

I say no hubbies, I think it will be "tough enough" trying to remember everyone's names and trying to get over the initial shyness of meeting everyone, without my poor DH hanging around. Well, mine is away anyway, but you know what I mean.
I say we finalize who is in, and then make a poll for the location. I am so excited!!! I honestly thought I would never meet any probies, but there are quite a few of us who are possibly available.
IF you all meet at South Station, you can always go to the Rose Kennedy Parkway. IT even has a fountain for the little ones. And hello?! THe North End is steps away! Gelato!!
Is this where you walk through from congress street to north end? I work in financial district and walked through on my way to the hairdresser on Salem street in north end. There were tons of kids running through the water sprinklers in swmsuits it looked so fun!
Yup
There's a nice park (Christopher Columbus Park) with a playground and a huge sandbox. Its right across from Joe's American Grill. We took the boys to the fountain and the steam things and the park yesterday to try something new. They had a great time.
Every time I see this I think it says Manhattan gtg and I get so freaking excited that you're coming to NYC. Then I realize what it says and have to go weep in the corner that you're not.

That's sad Perhaps you should take J on a road trip and come play with us?? You know you want to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (kiss)
Take the Orange Line or Commuter Rail to Ruggles Station, then take the Route 22, 28, 29, or 45 bus to Franklin Park Zoo. Routes 22 and 28 are “Key Bus Routes” and are every 20 minutes or better, seven days per week, during service hours.
Take the Orange Line or Commuter Rail to Forest Hills Station, then take the Route 16 bus to Franklin Park Zoo.
Take the Red Line to Andrew station, then take the Route 16 bus to Franklin Park Zoo.
google tells me I can get to the zoo in 1.5 hours using the orange line/22 bus option. I am willing to do this though I've never been on a bus with the stroller I assume someone will help me or something

That's. really long time is getting in the car with your baby and a stranger too much? I'd totally pick you up!

That is a long trip Damn it, we need to figure this out so that when we all arrive, no one wants to punch someone else in the face. What else can we try and do to help you???
I'm not going to lie I think I'm way to wimpy to drive 2 hours by myself (almost all highway) to the Zoo and I certainly don't want to creep anyone out by bringing DH...AHH why am I a wimpy driver!
There's Stone Zoo off of 128. Davis Farmland could be another option but that is out for the Boston girls that don't drive. Boston's about an hour for me with no traffic. I live near Kimball Farms (another off Rt 2 and 495)
I love the Capron Park Zoo, that is near me in Attleboro. It's a cute smaller sized zoo with a nice playground and park grounds to picnic on.
That's a cute place too! I think it'd be hard for those who need public transportation though. Same with Davy's family farm although I do want to take DD there!

Agreed, just throwing out other ideas since some of these Boston places are too far for the Northern ladies. We need to find a happy medium somehow.....
I am SO late jumping in on this, but I'm in MA!!!!!! Hello!!!
I'm in south/central MA. I second the zoo - any zoo. I'm okay driving into Boston, but hate looking and paying for parking. What about Southwick's Zoo? I'm happy to pick anyone up from the train station (Forge Park, Bellingham).
I wish I knew MA better to make some other suggestions but I'm kind of just clueless and staring at a map. I hope we can work it out so we don't have to do two GTGs I'll go whenever works for the majority. JuliaGulia what would be your preference? laurack do you know anywhere you could get to on the T that is closer than Franklin Park Zoo? I know you said you'd do it but it seems like such a long ride on public transport for you.
