And am enjoying it now. Man, it's pretty close to the delicious goodness you find at the coffee shop. I think I may have made it too strong though, oops.
The boys are almost back to full health! Had to give the elder boy the steroids on Friday night because he woke up at 11:30 and was a total mess. But he settled down and slept it all off, they were both turning around on Saturday.
I called the pedi on Friday about the littlest one, she never called me back (they moved offices this weekend). The office just called me to see if the doctor had called me, to which I said "nope but they're fine now".
Took a very long walk with DH, the kids, and the dog last night. It was fun, the kids slept until almost 8 am today

Last night I made my morning coffee (I like it iced) and stuck it in the fridge to grab on my way out the door this morning. I forgot it.
I'm baking a ton of muffins tonight. Time to start really saving money. No more coffee and muffin on my way into the office. I can make those myself and save a decent amount each month. I'm also trying to bring in leftovers for lunch at least twice a week if not more.
We did PF's 2 yr photos on Saturday. It was 90 degrees and humid and we spent the whole day in Central Park. She was so good and didn't have a single melt down. I got a teaser shot I canNOT wait to see the rest!!
It's Monday. I already want to stab myself in the head and I've only been in the office for an hour.

I do this all the time. It sucks.
doglove That recipe looks interesting. Is it as much work as it looks?
My interview went fantastic on Friday, but Saturday night I learned a dear friend of mine passed away. I've been crying off and on ever since. I haven't seen her in years and I regret it.
DH & I just discovered that MIL called us last night while we were out on our walk. We were just giggling over how we could freak her out a little because she was probably "just calling to see how the boys were doing". I told DH he should tell her we went on a nice walk and then within 5 minutes of coming home, DS #1 had a spontaneous bloody nose. She's still a little peeved that I picked up (and consequently administered) the steroid.
partiallysunny, the only hard part is filtering it at the end. I left it in the bucket for about 24 hours and I did not purchase cheese cloth. I did it all with a strainer and paper towels and although it took some time, it worked just fine. I used less coffee and water.
I think you can do it on a smaller scale too so you don't get as much and it isn't as labor intensive.

It's my mom's bday today! Having the fam over for fucking steaks on the grill. I insert fucking because steaks on the grill are da boooomb. Plus we're drinking wine my dad and I picked up at a vineyard close to where I used to live and it's fantastic. And a fire outside! Good evening planned.
Anxiously awaiting an email or phone call with details on a second interview with the college.
The coffee technique dl has in the op sounds super easy and I want to try it!
The beer fest this weekend was a lot of fun. I met up with the cute puppy guy and had a great time. Falling in like with him.
We're back from the Pacific Northwest! We had a great time and I miss my friends already. A did awesome on the flights, and ferries and all the schedule and sleeping arrangement changes. I did not want to come to work today.
I left my iPhone on the front seat of the car as we were rushing to get to the airport. Thank god it was there when we got back. I was so afraid the car window would be busted, the phone gone, and our house broken into, all because I didn't have a pass code on the damn thing.
I love iced coffee. I might have to try that out. cuddlyevil - I am glad to hear the kids are feeling better! Sounds like those (evil) steroids worked. dixienormous - I am trying to get better about making lunches at home for boyfriend and I. Maybe we can do check in and recipe posts for motivation. partiallysunny - hugs, I am so sorry for your loss.
I am pretty sure I have lost my mind, sometimes words come out of my mouth and then I think "why did I say that out loud?!?" Yesterday I volunteered myself to make another gown for the HRC gala on Saturday. I am starting today. At least I only have 10 inches of hem left on mine.
gault, congrats on the awesome sounding interview and fun with puppy guy!
motzie, I was thinking about you this morning while I was getting ready for work. I'm sad that it rained most of the time you were in my area and now it's supposed to be beautiful and sunny all week! But I'm glad you had a great time with your friends!
I'm feeling pretty random today...
I finally bought my fabric for my dress this weekend and got all my pieces cut out. Now for the task of sewing them all together... Also it occurred to me that I have never in my life sewn in a zipper... This could be problematic. I don't suppose I could substitute velcro for the zipper? Haha!
For some strange reason, I decided to take the time to straighten my hair today. 2 hours into the work day I already have it twisted back and held in place with a pencil... Sometimes I wonder why I bother. Although my boss just pointed out that my pencil matches my bright yellow shirt, so I guess that's something.
I caught the promo for the next episode of the bachelorette last night--does everyone cry on this season? WTF? Dude lies about having a girlfriend, she shows up and confronts him; then some other dude talks smack about the bachelorette and is surprised when she's crushed?
If it weren't for the seemingly 3 hours they'll show this week, I would probably watch it.

Zippers take practice. If it doesn't turn out the way you picture it, don't be too hard on yourself. They are a bitch.

thanks, PS! I realize now that this is quite the ambitious undertaking, and I'm really trying to just follow the instructions and do it without making my mom drive out to help. But I honestly haven't made an article of clothing since I made a pair of sweat pants in high school... I've done quilts and minor repairs on things, so at least I have some knowledge of sewing machine operation though. LOL
Starries, you'll get the zipper right. Just be patient. As far a garment sewing, press everything as you go. If you aren't pressing, it will look... Bad... You can page me if you have any questions. Be patient and it will turn out!
The zipper on my gown just broke. I had to rip it out and now I am putting in a new one. I have sworn so many times today.

Starrie- You tube tutorials on zippers and Captainmel is right to press as you go. It makes a huge difference. I found a dress I made when I was in high school this weekend in my closet... and it fits! It's a little tight in the boob area but it zips. I didn't really have boobs in HS.
I went out this weekend looking for a cheap summer dress. Nothing fits my body type right now. Who said drop waists were cool... grrr. That's what brought about my closet raid.
Other randoms: I'm going on vacation in 17 days!!! I can not wait.
partiallysunny - there were a lot of tears. I also threw the dress on the ground and stomped out of the room and made more coffee. It was pretty much a giant temper tantrum on the scale of a tired toddler. If I didn't have to wear the dress on Saturday I wouldn't have bothered.

This is not making me feel more confident...
As for pressing, I got in the habit of pressing everything multiple times when I was quilting, so my ironing board is now a permanent fixture in the dining room until this project is completed. I may or may not have shot daggers out of my eyes when H insisted that I put the iron away because he doesn't like to leave it out.
And another random fact, after my fabric was pre washed, I found it oddly theraputic to iron all the wrinkles out of it... It took forever, (because I bought an extra yard or so), but it was kind of soothing.
