I'm in Mississippi, and I hate people that say pecan any way other than what @pcloadletter described.
I say "soda" as a generic term for a soft drink, but I can see a situation where I would use "coke." Like, maybe, if I were sitting at a desk doing work and I really needed some caffeine, I might say, "Man, I need a coke," but mean that I want whatever kind of soda is available. I can also picture me telling DH I want a coke and him asking "What kind?"
ETA: Actually, I was wrong. I pronounce it in the Southern Louisiana style, so Pick-AHN.
I can't understand how merry/mary/marry can be different.
omg. I can see how mary/marry can be the same but merry is totally different! mehh-ree. And Mary/merry I can't spell out but I say them very differently. Do we need a video? lol

Ok, I can say merry differently. But I think I'll just go the British route and say Happy Christmas to avoid it all together.

My husband doesn't know how to say mary/merry/marry either! And he's from Jersey which is a supposed "normal" state!
Coincidentally, my friend Mary got married last weekend. I keep trying to get him to correctly say "Mary got married and it was a merry occasion" and he cannot lol

Ok, I'm trying to say this out loud and if I say merry the way you described it comes off as a weirdo British/French accent and I keep trying to do a French r sound after "meh" and I do t know why. Thank god H isn't home and A is too little to judge me.
I say sear-up and I've never lived off the west coast. Apparently, I'm kinda broken?
I say this wrong, but I think all of Philadelphia does. We're like grammar and pronunciation assholes. I say weird and I can't even describe how I say it, damn it!
At least I can say merry, mary, and marry different though.
