I have no advice but also wanted to just offer big internet stranger hugs. This must be so tough on so many levels and I really hope you can find an answer and treatment for him soon. You are doing your best..hang in there!
To tag all you have to do is put an @ in front of the name. (Sometimes the screen name is different from the name they used to sign up so if it doesn't show up blue when you post go back to their name in the thread and click on it. Look on the right corner of the profile, just under the send message button, and it will show the username and you do the @ with that username.)

I don't know if this will be of value or not for you, but my half-brother has both Asbergers and the staring seizure disorder (not sure what its called).
As a kid, he would become obsessed with things, and get violet when he was frustrated. He bit, pinched, and such until he was about 6 or 7. He was also not fully potty trained until he was about 7 or 8, but I don't know if up until then is was just accidents as you describe or fully not potty trained, as I did not live with him full time. He will still get physical when he is frustrated or you say something he thinks is making fun of him, but he will do things like give you a nuggy instead of hitting. He is 16 now.
Also, I'm not sure where the person who said they couldn't get an IEP because their kid was smart lives, but at least in NJ, that would be a load of BS (though something my school tried to pull). I was diagnosed with ADHD, a fine motor skill coordination issue, and an auditory processing issue. My IQ is quite high, and I always scored in the high 90% on all standardized testing. I still had both an IEP and a 504. That said, I do believe I had asburgers. I remember having many of the other issues I see/saw in my brother. I had the sensory issues such as hating the way jeans felt, funny about the textures of food. I had the social issues. I just didn't have a dx. I would get frustrated easily. I was never violent though, I would cry when I got frustrated instead. I also have migraines with aura, and sometimes they cause me to "zone out" since I can't really see. I would not be surprised if this is what what happening when the teachers claimed I was zoning out, I just didn't know or understand at the time, and neither did they.
Not every kid with issues will fall into the textbook definitions of their disorders. You need a dog who thinks outside the box. I would also contact a neurologist.
