I was supposed to do the 5k foam run tomorrow morning. I have been at the hospital since Monday with ds, haven't slept straight through the night in at least 2 weeks because of sick kids and a snoring dh. Ds is still in the hospital. May be discharged tomorrow but not sure, he is much better, dh would be with him. Then I got the news about my dog. On one hand still doing it would take my mind off it but ill probably kill myself! Would you still do it?
Depends how fit you are. If you typically run marathons, then sure-- go for it. But if you just completed your first Couch to 5k and found it incredibly difficult, then I'd say skip it.
I don't think we can answer this question for you. If it were me, yes, I would probably just do it. Getting some exercise and fresh air always helps me when I'm stressed and overtired.
I did a 10k in September after being up most of the night with a cat at the emergency vet (I really thought she was going to die). Adrenaline is an amazing thing - I did much better than I had planned and crashed after. I think it depends if you have trained sufficiently / are prepared for the race.
I'd do it because it's a short race and I would want to go for a run to blow off steam anyway. And it sounds really fun. But if you are stressed then don't.
