On the topic of office food stealing

I had strawberries (6 in a baggie) sitting on the counter in the kitchen at work and someone ate 2 of them.  I mean what.the.actual.fuck.man.  I know exactly who it was and she is the most likely suspect in the case of the half eaten jar of almond butter as well.  I hate this place sometimes.

I have never heard so many stories of office food-jacking till ML. Forget parking lots, there needs to be cameras put into every lunch room.

I'd be passive-aggressive and put a pint of strawberries on her desk with a note that says "These are yours, the ones in the bag are mine."

Confession: I stole someone's ketchup packet today out of the office fridge. Chic-fil-a forgot to put ketchup in my bag and I can't stand a dry sandwich. I felt guilty taking it since there was just a single packet, but I still did it and hoped that no one really missed their ketchup.

It was one of those big packets shaped like a ketchup bottle, though.  lol.  Someone might have had to eat their sandwich dry because I took their ketchup!  But, yeah, I really don't feel so bad.  In fact, I'd forgotten about it until I read this thread.

This was not the first time she had done it to me, and DEFINITELY not the first time she had done it in that office. She had no shame.

I knew it was her, so I walked in the lunch room and was all, "Oh, there's my pizza." That's when she was all, "whaaaat? You want to eat your own piiiiizza?" and our boss said, "You stole her pizza?!" Then I asked if she planned on replacing it, she said I could have her lunch that she had brought in that day, and she brought a replacement in the next day. 

I think that was the only time she actually was caught in the act and replaced the stolen food.

In a baggie on the counter in an office kitchen? That would be fair game in my office. In the fridge or labeled it would be off limits, but those strawberries would have been eaten in my office too.

People steal people's lunches where I work and where dh works all the time - like management has had to address it multiple times. Last week someone stole dh's nasty used lemonade mix stained water bottle out of his lunch bag. That one I really don't get. He bought a luggage lock for his lunchbox the next day (he doesn't have a desk or anyplace safe he can store it).

Where I work a lot of the out of town people go grocery shopping at lunch and then put it in the big fridge. One time someone put a big pack of ground beef in there and someone stole it in the 3ish hours before the buyer went home. That person was pissed.
