After we found out we'd have to say goodbye to our baby, a doctor from the Family Planning and Pregnancy Loss office came to talk with us about our options (induction vs. D&E), and also what we wanted as far as testing after the procedure.
We opted for an autopsy and genetic testing. We haven't gotten autopsy results yet, but I did get the genetic testing results today.
Our baby was (genetically, anyway) a perfectly healthy baby boy. We expected those results (genetic abnormalities almost never cause pPROM), but it still hurts to hear that we had to let a perfectly healthy baby go.
I'm so sorry redhead. I know it sounds trite and just something that people say, but you really have been on my mind and in my heart. Lots of internet hugs to you.
