|-) I like it, but I only use it at the start of each feeding. I always forget to look at the real clock, so it's nice to see how long she's been eating/where we are in her cycle.
It got it as a gift and have used it much more than I thought.
Oh and I loved using * button for my pain meds timer (c-section). That was nice.
Before I read the replies, I was thinking "in the first couple weeks when I was brain dead and couldn't think straight", but then after that.... eh, not so much.
Total Baby was a lifesaver for me. I didn't use my Itz Been at all but it would have been a useful tool for brief stays without me (like my clueless H at first).
Total Baby also can drive you nuts - you can document EVERYTHING. Which was why I really liked it - I could export everything to Excel and email it to my son's nutritionist and GI doc. Not sure if that is needed for most newborns.
I used it religiously the first month. I have a terrible memory and it got worse when I was completely sleep-deprived. It was worth it for me, but I only paid $5 for mine at a garage sale.

I LOVE total baby, it's awesome and I love it. It's on my ipod touch so it was easy to hit the buttons in the middle of the night. I also set up a pumping timer on it and recorded how much I got when I was nursing, supplementing and pumping when DD was first born and I was working on my supply.

For me it would be a waste of money - even if someone else spent the $ on it. That baby schedule and feeding on demand was not hard at all for our two kids - if they fuss - change or feed. If they're fine, leave them alone.
I would have rather had a $25 gift card to go out to breakfast burittos over that.
I use the "What to Expect" app - for the first few weeks I tracked his eating, diapers and sleeping and now I just track his eating bc I will forget how long it's been since he's eaten, which boob was first last time (have to be fair after all!) etc. but you can't add other timers to it which I don't like.
It would have been good for about the first month, then a waste.
This. It was helpful for the sheets the doctor wanted us to keep tracking all the diapers and feedings...I was in such a state of exhaustion that I would frequently forget what time I started feeding her, etc. and this helped me keep track. But after that, eh.
There are also lots of apps available for tracking these things, I'd opt for that now instead.

I bought an app when DS was tiny and we had to track his intake due to slow gaining. I only used it for a night and found old fashioned pen and paper most helpful.
Thing about most baby shit I determined is that if, after baby comes, you really need it then order it then. Amazon and Diapers both have awesome shipping.
In the NICU I started a note on my iPhone with my pumping stats, and another one for my meds. The pumping note turned to feeding when he came home, and got less detailed over the next few weeks. I think after his 2 mo well baby I stopped caring at all.
Naps and changing I've never paid a whole lot of attention to. Changing was generally after a feeding and/or before going out. I could never make him sleep so knowing when he did would just piss me off.
That's the Laissez Faire School of Parenting thoughts around that.

Totally unnecessary, IMO. When DD #1 wasn't eating well/gaining enough weight and I had to track her feedings, a notebook and pencil on the kitchen counter was convenient, easy, and did the trick for free.
