I have a very similar schedule as you, and I also have a 2-year old. The only thing that has worked for me so far is getting up early. I wake up at 5:00am. I am just doing the 30 day Shred so it only takes about 30 minutes and I am in the shower by 5:40. I try to get to bed around 9pm (and asleep by 10) so it's easier for me to wake up. I guess I am more of a morning person because I just can not bring myself to work out after the kiddo goes to sleep at 7:30.
Also, I prioritize it. It doesn't seem like you have kids, so how much time does keeping the house up take? I know I'm not the best house keeper, but during the week I pretty much do jack shit when it comes to cleaning. I'd rather get my workout in than take 20 minutes to make my bed and other things that I don't personally deem necessary.
Yeah, I am a neat freak, which scares me once we do have children. Bed must be made, I wash and dry dishes and wipe down all the counters every night. I run the vaccumn every other day (which is a necessity with two cats.) Laundry a few times a week so I am not spending my weekends doing it. Plus I also work 1-2 Saturdays a month 8-5pm.

I've found working out at home is much easier to fit in rather than going to the gym. I've also found keeping my workouts to no longer then 30 mins makes it easier for me to fit in. I usually do something on-demand or a workout DVD.
When I'm super busy, the only way I workout every day is to font in the morning. I am NOT a morning person, but I always feel good about getting the workout over with before my brain figures out what I'm doing. Once I have the day weighing on me the couch is way too appealing and working out is the last thing I want to do!!

Can you ask your H to do these things 2 nights a week? There are only so many hours in a day and I find that when I work out I feel better about myself and my health. Cleaning never really has that affect on me except it always reminds me how much I hate cleaning lol.
Ditto!! Lol!
During the school year I was working out two times a day and our house was horrendous. DH and would double team on the weekends to get stuff back in order. You just have to let some things go to enjoy other things.

I mostly do it at night after the kids are both in bed- so after 7:30pm. I also get up at 5:15am and don't get home until 5:45pm because of an hour commute each way.
Dh and I both are training for a 1/2 marathon. He travels every week and is able to get his training runs in more easily so on Fridays he takes full bedtime routine with the girls so I can run at a decent hour.
Also, stop thinking you HAVE to do an hour every day. I would never work out if I put that kind of pressure on myself. Say you'll do 30 minutes, 3 times a week for a month. Go from there.

When I work out probably won't work for you--I get off work at 3:30 with an hour commute home, but I go to the gym directly from work (even change my clothes at work) and either take a class around 4:30-5:00 or do something random at the gym.
One option could be to get in long workouts on the weekends (like 1-2 hours on each Sat. and Sun.) and then fit in smaller 20-30 min. workouts a couple times during the work week. H and I will often take long 2 hour bike rides or hikes on the weekend.
For your schedule, I would try first thing in the morning (which might mean getting up earlier) or try to carve out time after/before dinner at night. A quick 30 min. workout at 8 (would your H be fine with preparing dinner?) and then eat at 8:30?

I do AM workouts, get up at 5:15 (alarm is set for 5:05, but I am a snoozer) and leave to catch the train to work at 7:05.
I have a very tight schedule in the morning that is only made possible by lots of prep the night before. Work bag is packed, lunch ready to go, work clothes laid out, workout clothes laid out, and any workout gear laid out. All I have to do is grab my bag, lunch, phone, keys, and head out the door. My hair is wet and I have no makeup on. I let my hair air dry and I do my make-up during my train commute. I have a hair dryer and straightener at work to do a final touch up of my hair.
On M/W I go to 5:45 spin class (a 45 minute class) - I leave early at 6:25 to be home and in shower by 6:35.
On T/R I run at home, usually make it back by 6:30 to get showered and ready.
On Friday I work from home, so I will often use the extra time to do a longer run or go to spin class.
To me a 30-45 minute workout is better than none and I really see health benefits from even that short amount of time. It takes some getting used to and I have to get to bed at a decent time. I have had to reduce some of my appearance standards (going in public with wet hair and no make-up), but its been completely worth it to get my workouts in.
You have a tight schedule but it's doable. Reduce the time spent in your morning routine. Do you wash your hair everyday? Do you have an easy style? Setting out clothes, making lunches, even prepping stuff for breakfast, can save a lot of time. Learn to streamline your personal styling (makeup, hair). I feel like 1.5 hrs is a really, really long time.
You may also have to pair down your evening routine. I'm also a neat freak but I learned that I had to give myself slack because it wasn't sustainable.
FWIW, I get up at 5:15 to get to my bootcamp class everyday before work. I LOATHE mornings but it is such a relief to be done by the time I truly "start" my day. GL!
I would never get up early enough in the morning, so I must work out at night. One thing I am sure to do is workout on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, without fail. Then I figure if I can get one workout in during the week, that's 4 times a week and I am doing pretty good.

Yes, you can definitely tweak your mornings if you wanted to. You also have excellent excuses for not doing so. Your schedule DOES make it hard.
I get up at 4:50 and run during the school year. Clothes all set and I bring my lunches for the week to work on Monday (just a greek yogurt per day, and I mix flax seeds in. I also bring cheese sticks and almonds for snack, and drink water.)
I can't imagine having to make lunch every day. That would kill my morning. It's bad enough when the kids want me to make lunch for them! I do it the night before, but they buy lunch mostly.
I's eat breakfast at your desk or in the car if I were you, to save time. Sometimes I make an easy protein shake (skim milk, whey protein, yogurt, mix in a to-go blender small cup.)
Hope these give you a few suggestions!
Somehow I manage to get 3 kids ready for the day, get myself ready and be out the door by 7:25 and still fit in a run. When I make it a priority. It is by no means leisurely, and I convince myself to skip it at times, but it is doable.
I cook twice a week and try to prep everything. I go to the grocery store once a week. I always keep frozen veggies and long lasting fruit (apples, oranges and/or pears), so I always have something to eat.
I also eat breakfast at work--usually just yogurt and a banana while I'm working. I've also made frozen breakfast burritos and heated those up. Scrambled eggs reheat really well too and are more filling--sometimes I add some cut up ham or a piece of fruit. I also buy big bins of berries at Sam's and freeze in half or 1 cup bags and put them in the fridge the night before to eat with yogurt. Instant oatmeal is good too.
I actually go to classes 4 times a week and just take a shower after wards. Then on other days shower as normal. I usually just wash my hair after the pool so that saves a lot of time (and is better for my hair.) It's summer and hot, so I just put my hair in a ponytail and curl any wayward pieces. At least one of my exercise days is Saturday. I would do Sunday too, but my gym doesn't have many classes then.
I like classes too since you need to be there at a certain time. So I can't procrastinate.
I think walking while you wait on your husband sounds great if it's a safe area.
To clarify my comment--cooking twice a day means cooking for the whole week, so we eat leftovers or quick combos of stuff I already prepped (e.g. Stir fried rice using rice made earlier in the week just tossed with some eggs and frozen veggies.)

my schedule is pretty much like yours.
I wake up at 4:00 am and run between 4-7 miles during the week and do my long runs on the weekend
I do yoga a few times a week as well, I feel it really soothes, relaxes and strengthens me.
Ive actually have gotten really used to and love my 4 am runs, its quiet and calm no cars or people around, etc. I really love knowing I got my workout done already and can actually feel less stressed during the day
Its def a commitment There are def days I don't feel like getting up or my body just needs the rest and I sleep in, ill try to hit the gym or run when I get home on those days bc I feel I really need some outlet each day
