I probably spend $1500 - 2000/year? Possibly more. I don't know or want to know. We have gotten zero hand me downs and I probably spend $500 per size. I'm on mobile so I can't see the CP.
Even yesterday with a coupon buying basics from Carter's (plain onesies and leggings) I spent over $100. It adds up quickly. And I recently spent about $300 at mini boden so I guess I spend more than $500 per size/season because I'm not done shopping. And for her Christmas outfits alone ill spend $100-200.
Whatever. I like shopping and I never buy stuff for myself. Don't make me regret being honest!
I voted $500-1k, and I don't want to know if it's been more than that. lol
Even though J&J is expensive, their lines are smaller so you buy less. I feel like baby gap has something new out every week that I MUST HAVE. I have to say, my spending has taken a dive over the summer since I went nuts back in March and April buying up summer clothes because I was so sick of her winter clothes. Just typing that out, I'm starting to think I spend $200/month at minimum. Eek!
My mom and dad have purchased most of his clothes each season. So grateful for that.
I did subscribe to Wittlebee right after he was born. I thought 3 or so outfits for $40 a month was well worth it . I recently cancelled because Wittlebee had apparently gone down the shitter. I've bought special outfits for various occasions and pieces here and there on Zulily.

I feel the same. I totally low-balled my number because I felt guilty saying at least $2400/year.

Don't regret being honest, you have the best dressed baby ever! I envy her wardrobe :-)

Yea I just realized I low balled it too when I thought of coats hats shoes etc

I lowballed by not even mentioning a number. Don't feel bad. I rarely buy stuff for myself anymore and when I do, it's from Gap or Old Navy instead of Bloomingdales.

Yeah I used to buy designer shoes on the regular. I've only bought 4 pairs of shoes since I got pregnant!!
I will say $300-500 but I think $500 is high. I bought all her newborn and 0-3 month new but ever since then I only buy special occasion new, like holiday outfits. Everything else I get at a local thrift store for $1 a piece and most of it is name brand. I guess I don't really value her having awesome outfits for random days now that she destroys everything in hours haha.
We've been really lucky in the hand me downs and family buying department. Over 50% of Zoe's clothes have been/are hand me downs. We're at the end of the hand me down train, though, so we'll see how it goes after she outgrows the stuff FIL sent that's in her current size. I'd say we've spent a couple hundred dollars in the last 15 months.

I ended up voting $1000-5000 but it's much closer to $5k. I obviously can see how I could cut back on my spending for her but I still think I'd end up spending over $1000 even if I shopped consignment etc. I don't know how you guys get away with spending so little!

Since people are judging me I feel compelled to mention that buying clothes for her, seeing her wear them, and seeing them in the photos I take truly brings me joy. And like Tamb mentioned, people spend money on hobbies and things they enjoy. So suck it, haters!

Thrift stores in nice neighborhoods! Lots of people donate Gap, Gymbore, osh Kosh and Carters at our local one and they have 50% off on Saturdays so I go then and get the stuff for $1.
Consignment here is really pretty expensive for being used, or at least to me.

Yea, the one second hand store by me the items are still $8-$10 each.
A lot. More than I should, but she's the first baby on my side and none of my close girlfriends have kids- so zero hand me downs. I never buy for myself anymore, so shopping for her fills that retail habit of mine (I did use to shop for a living, so no judging!). The day I found out I was pregnant with a girl, I probably spent around $200.

Yeah. I wouldn't buy used if it was that much. I would just shop new.

Nobody should be judging - it is yo' money!
I am amazed that the average is as low as it is; shoes alone are $40/pair, and he outgrows them every couple of months...
If anyone puts 5k and over we need a serious intervention.
Why? People can spend their money however they want!
TrudyCampbell and anyone who feels judged: that is silly. I am jealous that you guys know why you like and want. I would spend so much more if I really liked things.
Not sure but I guess around the $1500 to $2k mark. I like to buy in bulk so I go to the outlets every month. I usually spend about $150 - $200 a month, that's what I budget for. Its obs more around holidays and for season stock ups. I don't like jj for boys so I can save there

Whoa! Testy much? Ever hear of a joke? Good grief!

If I wouldn't feel guilty buying clothes since we already have so many, I'd spend a whole lot more on clothes. I hope no one's judging you, Trudy, because, seriously, it's your money. When I go back to work, we'll probably not have that much extra income, because clothing baby girls is so fun and I love Mini Boden and Tea Collection.

Well, you did post that comment after Trudy was obviously feeling judged about her baby clothes shopping.
After isn't true really though. It takes me a solid 5 mins or so to type on a phone with a kid on my boob so there are a solid dozen new posts by the time I hit create post.
I give 2 shits how much people spend on their kids if you have the $ to spend and are not starving or living on the street.
I think if I had a girl my number would easily quadruple.
And, I get to re-use a lot of the older boys clothes on the younger ones, so I spend a lot less now than I did before. I bought a lot of really nice quality clothes the first go round. I saw them as an investment, which they ended up being. The J&J, Gap,Gymboree, etc. clothes I bought for Ethan have lasted much longer than anything else I bought.

I'm not 100 percent positive. I think i am around $500-$1000. I gave this chick $200 bucks for clothes from 12-24 months. Really great stuff. Gap, J&J, and other great stuff. So i lucked out for this year. There is a bunch of cute stuff he has all ready to go until he is 2.
Shit adds up fast thought! Shoes, hats, coats, jeans, shorts, shirts, pajamas. It never ends. So, I do think if i had a girl it would be WAY MORE.

This is a lifetime total? I put 1k to 5k, but I'm not going to lie, we might be over 5k, and I'm alright with that. Let's face it, I've been known to make $200 trips to J&J, and 5 of those makes it a thousand. We know I've gone more than 5 times, people. I refuse to be ashamed though, we wouldn't do what we couldn't afford.

Were you a personal shopper?
I worked for a stylist/editor. Lots of trips to showrooms and Madison Avenue. It was glorious.
