So no possibility that William and Kate knew and just didn't tell anyone? I don't know why I am finding it so hard to believe that the royal couple was "team green."
I dunno. Why not? I'll never understand why it's so hard for people to be team green. We were, and it wasn't hard not knowing. I think finding out early is more about just wanting to know. There's not all that much planning required that hinges on the baby's sex. It delays all the preconceived notions of what will, won't, can, or should happen if its a boy or girl.
This is my first time as team green, and I'm finding it very hard as we get closer. I mean, we are really in for it if it's a boy. I don't think I could have waited to keep it a surprise the first time.
@tambcat, you are not alone in that assumption. Everyone who knows me well thinks it's another girl, and our siblings all have/are having girls. That is why a boy will be such a shock!
While part of me is a wee bit disappointed the baby is a boy as I so wanted a girl aka Future Queen of England, I am very happy for them and can get on board with a Prince.
It's a boy so it was chewing her backbone through most of the pregnancy, I think.
Lol WUT?
Kind of a joking way to follow the old wive's tale that boys don't show as much as girls. Development is more internal rather than protruding outward. "closer to the backbone" with a boy rather than "following her belly into the room" with a girl.
"Why would you ruin perfectly good peanuts by adding candy corn? That's like saying hey, I have these awesome nachos, guess I better add some dryer lint." - Nonny
At least it was progress from ring-on-a-string. "If the ring moves back and forth it's a boy, if it spins it's a girl." (or was that backwards. That's before even *my* time. lol.)
And his title is Prince, isn't it? Since dad and grandpa are princes and grandma is Queen and he's in direct succession. Even with his parents being being Duke and Duchess. I wonder what his title will be? All the "lesser" ones. Earl of whatever, baron blah blah blah, etc.
Yeah, they announced several months ago that he'd be a prince. So they just get to decide randomly? Everyone's titles seem so willy nilly without much order.

His title will be His Royal Highness Prince **name** of Cambridge

The Queen can decide to give letters of patent and title someone what she wishes (as long as its an unused title and prince/princess can only be conferred to those of royal birth) in this case it is what's considered a courtesy title (as is William's title of Prince) granted to a person born to the royal family as a courtesy.
the earl of Wessex (AKA her youngest son) opted for that title due to its history and his desire to inherit his father's title (Duke of Edinburgh). he also requested his children not be given the title of prince and princess due to there distance from the throne since they will likely have minimal royal duties.
I'm only 5' and I wasn't that big though DD was only 6.12
You have no idea how glad I am to hear this. I thought I had no hope at 5' of being small and that really scares me. I know everyone's bodies are different, but it's nice to hear it's happened!
I'm also 5'0" and I only gained 26 pounds and was all belly. K weighed 6 pounds 15 ounces.
I can't believe how big that baby is!!! I was way off! I guessed 6 lb 12 oz lol. She's 5'10 so she can definitely hide a baby in there. I just thought since she was so petite that a big baby for her would have been in the 7's. Way to go Kate!

Well, you know, there's been a Queen of England for over 50 years now, and also, Queen Victoria. It's not like it's never happened. lol
Yeah, I know, lol, but it would have been really cool to have a girl now that the law is being changed to allow the firstborn, male or female to rule, vs it being by "default" (i.e. no male heirs aka Elizabeth II or male heirs dying aka Victoria).
But either way, the baby is the future heir and he's healthy and at the end of the day, that's all that matters.
