We just closed on our first SFH in June and are slowly trying to furnish/decorate. We've always moved every 2-3 years since college so I'm super excited to get settled and figure out what my style actually is.  We moved out of our rental so quickly that we didn't have time to paint/replace the carpet before we move in, so we'll be in a state of flux for at least the next 6+ months.  Joy.

Anyway, we have a 1978 brick home in the suburbs, 4/2.5 with a finished basement. I think it's 3,600 sq ft total.  We ordered a kitchen table at the end of May and it's still scheduled for delivery this August.  Whut?  DS' room now has his big boy furniture in it but I haven't picked a theme/paint yet.  Any recs/suggestions is very welcome for all decor ideas :-)

Entryway:


Front room will be our future office space. I wish we had a piano though!

Guest bedroom that leads to a bonus room (it's a weird layout, but it's standard for the neighborhood). The bonus room is the play room right now.

Oh great house! I have to think of some ideas. Is that your furniture pictured? I wasn't sure because of what you said about the piano.

Thanks lady!  We finally have our living room furniture and the 4 sets of mattresses we bought are going to be delivered tomorrow.  Wahoo!

Btw, I highly recommend buying in bulk if you can since we were able to get a king, 2 queens, and a full mattress set with frames and a pair of pillows for each bed all for the price of the king.  The lady who sold us the mattresses said that most people don't negotiate so she could afford to go really low with us.  Whut?

@notquiteblushing, I still need to take photos of our furniture.  I will ask for advice in another thread, especially about rugs and windows.
