Still at my parents'. Going home tomorrow.
My dad was trying to tell me that I *need* to start thinking about finding a house and I *need* to get a better job in the next year. Apparently both these things are easy to do!
My chest is getting really tight just thinking about it. I am ready to go home.
I've bought an insane amount of indie polish today. My H is going to die when it all starts arriving. Oh well.
What's indie polish? Is that some specific type of nail polish?
We're making homemade pizza and will be drinking copious amounts of wine to go with it. Yum. It's also movie night, though we may skip that to watch the first episode of The White Queen instead. Sometimes the Netflix* instant selection is slim pickings. We shall see.
*what does it mean that I originally wrote Nestflix?
Devil Wears Prada is next. Can't decide if I watch that, or DVDs of episodes of SATC.
i have decided I don't need Skittles, as I have wine.
SQUEEE!!! Except FI just said he's not going to play poker after all so I'm pretty sure I can't get away with making him sit through that on top of this. I'll have to DVR it.
My FF draft is going on right now. I got the last pick in a 16 person league. All I can say is thank goodness for snake drafts, because otherwise I'd be completely screwed instead of only kind of screwed.

Independent nail polish makers. It's usually more expensive than store polish, but you're supporting small businesses and its usually way prettier than store polish.
More randoms: My foray into being wine drinker is over after tonight. This shiz is expensive! I finished the bottle I bought yesterday already! Back to beer drinking for me. I'm too cheap.
Ah cool. My favorite brand is actually a small brand not found in stores (formaldehyde free!) but I had no idea this had turned into a thing. Actually though, the brand I like is probably just big enough not to be considered indie.
As for the wine drinking, you need to find some inexpensive bottles you like. We have some go to ones we get from TJ's that only cost $5-7 per.
I have a headache from all the yelling to check if the baby cry monitors work. Two of them don't and we have to send them back. Annoying.
H asked if I wanted to go for a ride to the liquor store. I said I wasn't a dog, so he took the dog instead. So I'm here on the couch watching lifetime and eating ice cream!
I never even thought about the fact that you wouldn't hear a baby cry. Do the monitors light up? I feel like I saw this on an episode of Extreme Makeover Home Edition.

I'm bored, and I don't want to bust out the cross stitch, because shit is already all over the apartment with the moving situation. But I'm super BORED.
loonylunalovegood, you need to find a go-to cheap wine. There are plenty! For instance, I thoroughly enjoy Flip Flop Pinot Noir, and it's usually in the $5 range and often on sale.

We went to Best Buy today to look at new TVs.. WTH knew that there were TVs that cost $8k??? I think we have settled on one that's in the low $2Ks but even that has me all miserable
We also looked at new furniture and I didnt see anything I couldnt live without... that room may sit empty for awhile until I get some gumption....
On another note, we had a fantastic family dinner out -- yum!
I finished canning my sauce and my pot of water is still at 170 degrees, it's been a few hours since I finished. That pot really retains the heat. I cleaned off our back porch and weeded some. I still have to weed the front of the house. I am SO not a weeder and it's beginning to look like the house has been abandoned, it's embarrassing. But my husband needs to mow first.
We decided to ditch Knoebels tomorrow, neither one of us feels like dealing with the family reunion (it happens every year) and we had stuff around here we want to do. It'll be the first one (since we've been together) we've skipped in 5 years.

I've been watching OITNB for the past 4 or 5 hours and I just can't quit it. I'd love to finish the season tonight but I doubt H would go for that when he gets home.
I've eaten an inordinate amount of candy today. I never eat candy and we never have it in the house, but we got some at the movie store last night and I'm like "I need ALL the candy" right now. So far I've had a little of all of these: Sour Patch Kids, Milk Duds, Mike & Ike's and Skittles. I agree with mekiakoo that the green apple flavor is now awful.
I want to learn to can, but then I'd have to learn to grow stuff...and..that's just disastrous.
I've killed basil, and I hear that's nearly impossible.
lol...I don't grow things. I have big dreams of growing things but I'm lazy. I go to the local produce farm, that we are friends with, and buy the produce. I've spent maybe $7 on banana peppers, I bought about 3 dozen. I paid $16 for 25lbs of tomatoes. Cucumbers are like $1 for 5. And I bought some zucchini because I want to make bread; they are 2 for $1. 10 dozen corn that we bought the past few weeks for freezing was only $34. I like their stuff, we know how he grows it and that he takes great care in his crops.
This is my first round of learning to can. As long as you have a big enough pot, a basket, and grippers - you're golden. It's a LOT easier then I thought it'd ever be. As long as what you are canning has an acid content, you can water bath it. Pressure canning is beyond me though.
