Listening to white noise (I have a CD that I play that runs for 12 hours, so no stopping to loop, good thing DH is a good sport and doesn't have any issues with the sound). White noise reminds me of the ocean so it's relaxing (an ocean waves CD is also really relaxing). Also, this sounds silly but if I'm stressed out and worrying about things and am having trouble falling asleep, I picture myself getting a massage on the beach on a remote island somewhere. That usually puts me to sleep. lol.

White noise and meditation. I've found meditation to be an amazing help for my ADD and for my insomnia. Love it! I use ideas from the Plum Village site.
Something mindless so I don't think about what's wrong in my life... Reading this forum, reading some mindless chick lit, or even thinking about what makes me happy in life. It destresses to remember there are good things in life and then I sleep better.
Reading. Sometimes if I am having a hard time sleeping I will decorate a house in my head (I realize how dumb this sounds) like wall colors, decor, everything, and then I fall asleep everytime lol
99 bottles of beer at a steady cadence in my head Booze White noise in headphones Benadryl If my h rubs my back really lightly And this is cheesy but if I lay on my h's chest his heartbeat usually does it. Lol
The backrub sounds really nice but since my DH's hand is approximately 10,000 degrees, he's not allowed to touch me with his hands once I'm really trying to fall asleep.

I close my eyes and run through the entire plot of a movie. Thinking about something that detailed always gets me to sleep. I don't often get past the first few minutes.
