My OB allowed me to take Prilosec for both pregnancies and I cannot tell you how awesome it worked. Talk to your doc because it was a HUGE relief for me!
Definitely talk to your doctor. Tums should only be used short term. I found if I took too many of them I was constipated and got ridiculous charley horses. Apparently too much calcium can cause charley horses.
Priolosec is not tums, just an FYI. Its an over the counter pill that you can take daily to prevent heartburn.....and it works EXTREMELY well.

Kari- hugs
Ms. Starry- talk to your OB, I was cleared to take Zantac during my pregnancy.
Megs- I wasn't really dialated or effaced either. I think at my 39w appt I was barely 1cm. Walking really helped move things along for me. We walked for 40 minutes one night, I woke up at 4am the next morning in labor.

FML then. My other two biggest pregnancy issues are constipation and charlie horses, lol.
No, No, No, I'm not talking about tums. Prilosec is an over the counter pill. Talk to your OB. It was a miracle drug for me and has nothing AT ALL to do with Tums.
