Noises I would say no. But my mom an I have often tossed around the idea about her ability to feel pain. I know toddlers are tough and its all about how the parent reacts but I still wonder.
The other day she was running downhill in a parking lot and couldn't stop so she fell. She didn't catch herself with her hands and fell and skid on her forehead. There were scratches and intentions from rocks. She popped back up without a peep or even a glance in my direction and ran off.
She does occasionally cry when she falls on her head but it could be just because the event of falling off the choice caught her off guard and startled her more than anything.
She's always found getting hit in the head absolutely hilarious. I have several videos.
But I always just chalked it up to a baby/toddler/kid resilience thing.
Wow that's really interesting! I just pictured her being Hayden Panettiere from Heroes who feels no pain and can heal herself, lol.
This sounds evil but have you tried like pinching her??
And I remember the videos of her hysterically laughing when you threw stuff at her head! Oh man, her laugh is the best.
Haha. I always picture the little girl on an episode of House. She couldn't feel any pain. I don't remember what the conclusion was though.
I don't think I have ever tried pinching her deliberately, no, maybe I should try. Haha.
But it's only 12:30 there!! At 12:30 here she had only had a few bites of DH's bagel.
True, well she woke up at 6 and most of that was just eaten at 12:30 for lunch. Sorry I'm not trying to downplay pey's issues, I've just always wondered if D has something going on... I'm going to be at my office tomorrow with her so I'm going to weigh her and see if she's gained recently.
I know you aren't trying to downplay! Haha. I just wanted you to give yourself and laney some slack! I hope she's gaining okay!
I'm glad the eval went well and you'll be getting services soon. If you ever have any questions about sensory processing let me know. I'm happy to share my knowledge

She does cry when she gets shots though!
Carter also doesn't seem to feel pain aside from shots. He'll tumble or smack his head and just keep on going. I kind of wondered if something was off.
Trudy, Carter loves loud noises and craves loads of physical contact. Does that mean something awful? I'm scared of Dr. Google.
Lauranicole, I'm so glad that you had a good meeting and have a plan going forward. Please keep us posted!

Don't worry and don't google! Those things *could* be a potential sign of some sort of sensory seeking disorder, and since Peyton was just diagnosed with other sensory issues it made me think of it. A lot of kids with sensory processing disorders shy away from sensory experiences- certain textures, etc but other kids crave those things.

Sometimes I think adeline has whatever the opposite of peytons dx is. She doesn't ever seem to fill up ever. Tonight she ate almost a whole can of chef boyaree followed by 2 cups of mandarin oranges followed by chicken and onion kabobs (did t like the peppers) and mashed potatoes followed by half a cup of oranges.
And she wanted more.
I'm gonna ask her doc at her next appt. It doesn't seem normal and I don't know what to feed her to keep her full.

Squee! I know. Only a couple more days! Yay! How is A feeling?
She's still got a cough, but they called us in a decongestant/cough med, so she'll be fine. It was a terrible drive here last night. So, we're all recovering

Hope the meds kick in soon. Sorry the drive was so miserable.
