I can't believe the driver didn't stop! I would hunt them down! I hope your baby is a-ok soon! I hate seeing them in pain.
But, i will tell you a story of dog resilience...My next door neighbor I grew up with is a K9 Police Officer and a few weeks ago his dog was shot in the line of duty (he jumped in front of Randy and took a bullet for him). He was shot in the paw and in the jaw-His tongue was almost severed. He's getting a metal plate put in his jaw, but is otherwise doing SO good! In fact, Randy is running a 100miler this weekend and Bodie will run the last .10 miles with him (well, he'll hobble). Dogs are amazing, and although he's in a tough spot now you'll figure out the balance of his meds and hopefully he'll be back to full speed in no time.
Chesh, I am so sorry all of this is happening. Poor little guy. I can't believe the person didn't even stop. Hoping he makes a full and speedy recovery!
I'm so sorry to hear this. I know you don't know me, but from one dog mama to another, I'm praying that he's back to himself in 4 weeks and no worse for wear.
Thanks for the update, I was sending some positive thoughts your way yesterday. I am so sorry, I can't even imagine how heartsick you must be. Dogs are crazy resilient though, and you'll both be in my thoughts!!!
Fuck, I'm all crying and stuff. All of us are sending you both love and hugs...gentle ones for G, and if you need anything, let me know. Would he eat homemade liver cakes? They're soft and Lucy goes MAD for them.

I hope that driver loses a fucking eye. Asshole.
Jermys, that sounds like something he'd love. Are they hard to make?
Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. He keeps getting up and going to the door like he wants to go out, but the vet said for bathroom breaks only. It's breaking my heart. I don't think he needs to go yet because he just did not long ago.
I made the mistake of taking his harness off (he can't wear his regular collar, so I got him a harness this morning) and now he won't let me put it back on. So I certainly can't let him out until I manage that at least. But if he even sees it in my hand he won't let me near him. And I don't want to wrestle with him too much because I don't want to hurt him. I just thought he might be more comfortable and settle down more easily to sleep without it on, because he hates wearing things.

This happened a block from my inlaws. Bodie was treated at the vet we go to. It really is an amazing story.
Chesh, I hope your doggie makes a speedy recovery. My mom used to feed her cats chicken baby food when they were sick. Maybe he would like that.
I buy them from a woman I know. Message me your address and I'll send you a crapload. Or I'll see if she'll give up the recipe...I know not everyone whores out their personal information on here like I do lol
