So we're stuck with cable right now and I'm really sick of how expensive it is. H and I are looking into Hulu Plus, Amazon Prime, or any other apps anyone can recommend. Basically we want to watch TV shows either the night they air or soon after (shows like HIMYM and Grey's, I know I can go on their websites but I like being able to watch old seasons of other shows that might not be on Netflix yet). What are the pros/cons of Hulu Plus or Amazon Prime? Is it worth getting rid of cable and the DVR? Does anyone watch it on an Xbox and if so, what are the differences? TIA!

From my experience with amazon prime, you still pay for most shows per episode. There are SOME shows that are free for prime members, but nothing new.
I liked Hulu Plus, but when we got regular cable, I got rid of it. All of the shows I watched were available the next day. (Grey's). You can also watch some shows on the network website (Greys is always on the ABC website). I don't know about HIMYM, don't watch that.
We watched both A/P & Hulu on our Wii.. it was an easy set up. Personally, I like a lot of shows that aren't available on Hulu. A&E, TNT, FX... none of those networks on are Hulu. You can do a 2week (maybe 1 mth) trial of Hulu to see if it's something you want to use.

We use our xbox. I like the interface and it's easier to navigate compared to the smart TV option we also have. We do Hulu Plus and Netflix. Is HIMYM on CBS? That's the one network not on Hulu. You have to watch on CBS app or on their website. I don't see us purchasing cable anytime in the near future.
