There need to be so many meetings... She needs to be GONE, I can't imagine what she would do even she thinks she's alone, if this is what she does when the Mom is right there.
Good for you for not getting violent. It must be so hard to restrain yourself in that situation.

Skip the volunteer brigade and go to the principal or superintendent, they aren't allowed to put their hands on kids unless they are about to cause ha to themselves or others and them its a trained restraint that's used.

I agree, that was completely out of line for her.
Seeing as how she is working in the school as a volunteer, I do think you should mention this incident to her superior (the principal I am guessing. Technically it may be the librarian, but she might not have the authority to kick her out). If she was only a parent and didn't work in the school, I still would have given her a piece of my mind, but there wouldn't be much else you could really do to her. But seeing as how she works in the building, I would definitely follow-up with someone about this.

Skip the volunteer manager, go straight to the principal. A school-authorized volunteer putting hands on a kid is a big enough deal to escalate immediately.
School volunteers in TX have to sign up with the district and have a background check done. It sounds like she is just a volunteer, not an employee, correct?
I'd complain to the principal, the district police, and whoever is over volunteer sign-up at the administration office. Get her banned from volunteering.

Yes, background checks are required. But I supposed if she makes a habit of tossing kids around that may not show up there.
I'm half-expecting the volunteer lady to email me about it tonight. If she doesn't, ill contact her first thing in the morning. Maybe cc the principal.

Yeah, sorry, I was just pointing out that it's not as informal as it once was to be a volunteer.
I'd go above the volunteer coordinator (a fellow volunteer, correct?) and contact someone employed with the district, like the principal. The librarian is equal to a teacher so that won't do much.

The very fact that she blamed it on her own tooth pain tells me that even she knows she was out of line and not in control of her own state - not cool!
