((Sonrisa)) ((Sinead)).. My whole family slept in today. In fact my son is still asleep and its after 8. I plan to go make some coffee and enjoy my patio before it gets too hot and the little man is running around.
Today is my birthday. Instead of spending the day with my H and doing fun stuff, we have to go to my sister's to cut down a dead tree. I'm excited for the free firewood, but am a little pissy that it HAD to be done today (she insisted). I want a day of fun, dammit!

This had better be a weird set up for a surprise party.

I wish. Unfortunately, they are going through a really rough financial time due to my BIL's back injury, so it I doubt it. I'm used to it all centering around her though. She chose to move a few days before our wedding 5 years ago. I almost expect something like this every year, but still get annoyed.
Ever since I was sick last week and hurt my back, DH has been sleeping in the guest room downstairs. I have been better for a while, but we are still doing it. We are on opposite schedules and I kind of dont want him to start sleeping upstairs again. Lol, it's been so comfortable and nice not being woken up at random times.
I am about to head out to the pool and I am scared this could be the last pool weekend. I am keeping my fingers crossed for one more.
We were up early for a prenatal labor & delivery class. I feel really bad for a woman in the class who cried most of the time, she kept saying how scared she was.
Wal-Mart has diapers on sale so we are going to stock up today on size 3's I need to go for a walk today

I would buy different brands of diapers if I were you. Some diapers don't fit baby well or they can cause redness or allergic reactions.

We've got some pampers and some Huggies, what other brands do you suggest? I am going to keep all of my receipts just in case Wal Mart has pampers AND huggies on sale right now for an awesome price

I know a lot of people have had luck with Target brand, Wal-Mart brand, and Luvs. My kid wore huggies most of her first year but now she is in Pampers because they're longer and she doesn't pee out of them as quickly. All of the other cheaper brands have left her a little red and she doesn't have particularly sensitive skin.
It's good you're keeping all of your receipts, it would just suck to have a whole bunch of a certain diaper and then discover that you can't use them.

That would definitely suck! Maybe when Target opens here (On Tuesday!) I will get some of their brand diapers. Thanks for the advice
ooglie26, why did you guys say yes? Hope you have a good birthday
I didn't, my H did. He sprang it on me last night while I was at work, thinking I'd enjoy the time with my family. We just had a conversation over Labor Day weekend about him always being willing to help everyone else out, and putting me on the back burner. He's seriously going to owe me one. I also plan on reminding him that our anniversary is on the 27th, and if he plans on helping ANYONE out with ANYTHING that weekend, there will be unpleasant consequences.
On the hand, at least we're getting free firewood that's already seasoned for our firepit. I predict lots of hotdogs and smores this fall.
I ran a 5k this morning - my second one ever - and I feel like I might die. I have a serious case of the slows, but I'm pretty proud of my time (48 minutes), especially since my GPS showed the course was actually 3.6 miles.

1) (hug) (hug2) Zombie hugs for everyone. 2) I'm so exhausted, at least tonight I can take my sleep medication again. 3) My body loves caffeine. I love caffeine. I had most of a Mountain Dew Kickstart this morning and now I'm having Starbucks with an extra shot(mostly because when I went to Starbucks yesterday they fucked up and I got really sick). This probably isn't all the caffeine I will have today. I will probably at least have a coke later today. 4) Because of the extra shot, I might actually be able to go to the bathroom today. I was going to add something else to this, but I figured it would be TMI, so I will leave it at that.

I'm so glad that I've been getting good amounts of sleep since the heat wave broke. I feel more energetic and ready to tackle my day.
Got my union dues all together. I will have it at the union offices on the first day I have off next week. Promote me!
H is treading some thin ice. Last night he comes home, DEMANDING, that I make him meatloaf. Nothing else. Just meatloaf. So I made spaghetti instead. I told him to enjoy the meal, because it was the last he was getting from me until he changed his attitude. This is a guy who thinks that making me ONE chili hotdog construes as dinner, therefore he's a hero. Then he started harping on me about why I wasn't doing his laundry. It's called being an adult, dumbass. I did some of his laundry while unemployed, but I'm not unemployed now. Then he started barking orders at me like "fix the TV!, get me some Oreos!, bring me some milk!" Just being a demanding fucker all night. I fixed the TV, then told him to go fuck himself on the rest.
I've been feeding coconut oil to my cats and their fur is so heavenly soft! It's turned my anti-social cat into a social cat. I'm looking at her laying next to her "mortal enemy" and they're happy to be together. I'm so stoked by this.

We've had terrible luck with Huggies - they always leak on us! We've had the best luck with Pampers and Target brand. She gets Target during the day and the Pampers nighttime holdalotta pee at night.
Dd is hanging out with the in-laws, then they are taking her to my mom's to spend the night. So when I put K down for his nap, I vacuumed, showered, then did my meal plan/grocery list for the week. Now I'm sitting here watching Sister Act.
I woke up this morning to discover I started my period. I haven't had a period since I got pregnant....so nearly 2 years. I hate life right now. The pharmacy switched the brand of my bcp for some reason this time and I'm convinced that's why I started even though I just started the new pack on Wednesday.
H, dd and I stayed up until midnight last night watching Tangled and Ice Age: The Meltdown. It was nice.
We have enough formula for 2-3 more bottles for K, then we're done with bottles. We've been down to just his night time bottle for a week now. MIL asked us how we were going to wean him because "we want to do whatever you want us to do" so I told her that I was going to cut out his morning bottle one weekend, then last weekend I cut out his before/after nap time bottles. Well K apparently won't drink out of the sippy cup for them so when she brought him to our house on Thursday (she had somewhere to go so she brought him to our house and SIL came over to watch him until I got home) she took one of our bottles so that she could give it to him during the day yesterday. I didn't notice she took the bottle until I went to make him his night time bottle and saw that one was gone. I was not very happy. I don't know why he won't drink out of the sippy cup for them, he does just fine for me and my mom.
H is working a 24 today - I feel like we don't see each other very much these days
Thankfully Morgan is on her 2nd nap of the day - this is huge because she typically doesn't believe in naps. We ran a bunch of errands this morning so I must have worn her out.
H wants to switch cable companies to save money (don't even suggest cutting it out to save $$ it's NOT happening LOL) and we have so much stuff DVR'd so I'm watching tv like a boss today!
we went shoe shopping today for L. at nordstrom. not like, joe's shop of remnant bullshit.
they sized L's feet and i just don't believe them. they're like "she's a 10.5." i'm like "she was a 10.5 in april. not a snowball's chance in hell her feet haven't grown, considering she's grown 4 inches." then we pick out 3 shoes to try. EVERY SHOE we pick has a velcro closure, since that's what our 3 year old can do herself now. and i ask them to bring out 11 and 11.5 (because that 10.5 is nonsense).
they come back out with ONE pair of the shoes we requested in a proposed size. ONE. they didn't have any of the others, at all. come on, people. it's saturday. THEN she's like "so, since we didn't have any of the shoes you were interested in, i found a couple others that are similar in a 10.5." all of them were ugly, with laces.
meanwhile, L is distracted by a display of elmos in the adjacent shopping area and acting like a 3 year old, and my husband is nonstop checking english premier league scores on his phone and generally acting like this is too much to be bothered with.
also, there was a lot of sighing by the person helping us. listen, lady, sorry you have to work but keep it to your damn self.
conclusion: nordstrom received $0 from us, i gave my husband the evil eye and a "get with it" under my breath, we ended up having to hightail it out of there as part of a disciplinary maneuver since L spun out with 3 year old nonsense, and i scheduled a mani/pedi for half an hour from now.
I forgot: We have been without a microwave for almost 3 weeks and I am OVER it and want the new one installed now - I feel like I am amish or something! It's really a case of not knowing how much you use something until you don't have it... We have the kind that goes over the stove. H measured and I went to Home Depot while he was a t work - of course I forgot the measurements at home but the salesman said "oh yes, standard size" so I buy it & schedule delivery & installation. Cut to delivery day - guy carries it in, looks at the space, looks at me and shakes his head. It's too big - GAHHHH! So after H got home from work we go back to Home Depot & discover that they don't even carry the size we need. Menards does, so we went there & bought it but are now waiting for installation - likely Monday Do you know how much stuff you can't easily eat without a microwave. FWP for sure but I'm over it...
