I have been doing acupuncture since March for fertility. But I was curious if anyone else has ever done it? Not for fertility specifically but for back pain, headaches, whatever? Wondered if anyone else has experience with it and what you thought!

I did it for morning sickness during the first trimester. Eh. I think it's a quack. I mean it did relax me, but I didn't feel any less sick each day that I woke up. But hey, I'm willing to try anything in desperate times.
I have a friend, well H's BFF really, who swears by it. He went to work on his leg and he had back pain that also went away that he never even told the girl about. One of the Drs in my GYN practice suggested it to me when I was looking for ways to get A to flip from breech to head down, but I ended up going the chiropractic route which did nothing for me.
Yeah, I always hear that it really does somehow get rid of pain. My mom, who is paranoid and skeptical about absolutely everything, did acupuncture like 35 years ago for shoulder pain and she says all her pain went away.
But I am not very convinced when it comes to pregnancy related stuff. Moon- I'm curious about the sessions you did for your morning sickness- where did they put the needles?

A friend of mine in NJ is an acupuncturist and specializes in fertility and women's care. Of course she swears by it and claims to have a good success rate, but I don't have any experience and haven't talked to anyone who has really done it for anything other than turning a breech baby or inducing labor.
I have a friend in NYC who has been doing it for fertility. She RE has one in their office. She swears by it and says it increases blood flow to the uterus. IDK, maybe it's working because she is about 9 weeks pregnant through IVF.
I have thought about it but I am not convinced myself it will be the answer to my prayers.
My RE said there's no conclusive data regarding it impacting fertility. He said if I wanted to do it to help relax me, to go for it, but to stay away from any special "herbs" they would recommend to me, and they could interfere with the pharmacy of meds I'd be on. That said, he mentioned other doctors in the practice think it's a great thing, and highly recommend it. I didn't bother with it, because our "issues" are supposedly on my husband's side.
I did it from July through October of last year. I did like it and think it helped. We weren't TTC while I was doing acupuncture, I was just trying to get my body right for when we were ready to TTC. I remember Jen Weaver who used to be on this board had success with it as well. But in the end, I think it was western medicine that made the difference for me.
