I was irritated when I had to stop shopping at Lowe's. I still give the side eye to target because their CEO donated a bunch of money to conservative groups, but they have been trying to remedy that.

Hey didn't you read this part?
“With reference to statements made yesterday, I apologize if my words have generated controversy or misunderstanding, or if they have hurt the sensibilities of some people. In the interview I simply wanted to highlight the central role of the woman in the family."
I don't buy their stuff anymore anyway, but before I got weird and hippified, it was my fave.
I'm curious what prompted the comment from him.
He was asked in an I tear view interview if adds ads would feature gay couples. He then went on to say he is against gay adoption. I am assuming the interviewer was asking more questions based on the first.
I can't decide if homophobia should be uncovered or not, as long as it is not influencing political agendas or inflicting hatred. Why did an interviewer specifically ask Barillos take on homosexuality? What does gay marriage/adoption have to do with pasta? If Mr. Chik-fil-A is actively giving money to an orginazition helping to oppress people! please, pease do so. If Mr Barillo doesn't think they will have a commercial with a sane sex couple featured, why do we need to know this?

wtf? I don't usually buy Barilla anyway, but now I definitely never will. I hope DiCecco doesn't feel the same way. I know TJ and WF are cool so I at least have them.
There is this fresh pasta I buy refrigerated, three cheese tortellini that I have been CRAVING lately. OMG I hope its not Barilla.... losing my Barilla Plus is bad enough.

Read the article, shared on FB. Got this as a comment:
"Freedom: 1. the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraints.
Reading between the lines. Nothing dude said was sexist. He never said, "bitch better get in the kitchen." Inciteful media plays dude as being sexist when all he was saying was he believes in a nuclear family with a male and female. Judge not lest ye be judged. Why can't people have their own opinion? You still eat at chick fil a, don't you? Chik fil a = anti-gay! Dude's personal opinion doesn't make their product any less tasty. Dude's personal opinion should be left at that... just like a homosexual should be allowed to pursue happiness, he should be able to express his own feelings."

We always buy the generic store-brand pasta. One box is like 80 cents. It's awesome. I have tried some other brands and they all just taste the same to me. Except for a whole wheat kind once that tasted like cardboard.
I had a co-worker post on FB saying she would not be buying Barilla anymore. A few people commented in agreement and then of course one guy goes, "I will. I like supporting companies that respect others but still stand by their beliefs {side comment by me: it's not respecting them if you tell them to go buy someone else's pasta because you don't want them buying yours} and I only support businesses with Christian values. I don't support any of those big liberal companies." I teach in a very conservative town, so this surprises me not at all. But big side-eye.

I think that might be Bertoli and that stuff is yum.
