for the uninitiated, you start pushing at 10 cm. i could be like this for ages, or, as my doctor said "see you next week for your appointment if not before. ha ha ha!"
other things my doctor said:
"if you feel things that might be contractions, don't dilly-dally. go straight to the hospital." "it would be good if over the next day or so you got things in a place at work that if you had to leave you could just go." "oh, but don't worry too much. you could stay at 3 for weeks." "we're going to induce you at 39 weeks, most likely, if you haven't had the baby yet."
Did you feel like you were hopping in and out of the L&D room?
Crazy! I was from 2-4 cm for 2 weeks, was at 4 when they induced me. It felt weird knowing I was open (? but this is really how I thought of it) and just gallvanting around.
1) why inducement at 39 weeks? 2) I think that is where I was with K before going into labor and things moved quite nicely. Not crazy fast, we even stopped by Total Wine on the way to the hospital, but still faster than C. 3) this is all very exciting!

Oh! Oh! And we heard this so much after I started contracting and dilating that we didn't believe the doctor when she said they were sending us to the hospital to be induced. We were just "okay, yeah, we'll go to L&D and get checked out, NBD." We didn't call/text anyone. Then we got there and we were sent right to a room, I got hooked up to everything, and they said "let's start the pit!" Jake and I looked at each other liked, whaaaa?!
"we're going to induce you at 39 weeks, most likely, if you haven't had the baby yet."
Why?
based on past history. with L my fluid started to get low/leak. hence, "most likely" not "with absolute certainty." fear not, i'm not giving in to The Man and his Doctoring of Convenience.
Eh, I gave into the man, and Doctoring for My Convenience when I was being watched for the same reason. N's fluid dropped out of nowhere, and they watched me like a hawk when I was pg w/ E. When 39 weeks rolled around and they offered that, having family that needed a solid day or 2 heads up to travel to watch my other kid? yep, I went right ahead with a Labor Of Convenience. Its not all bad.

lol. I just wondered if there was something going on with you and babe.
You have no ticker! I forget how many weeks you at. ? ?
i'll be 36 weeks tomorrow.
i'd like him to stay in for another week at minimum. AT MINIMUM. he's measuring pretty well though. she said around 7 lbs.
omg. i'm wigging. you all. i have so much freaking work that i thought i had 4 weeks to do that now i know i should be finished with in 1-2 so as not to leave people in the lurch.

With DD2 I was at 3cm at 36 weeks 37 I was at 4 and had her at 39. I just went about my business and thought of it as 4 less cm I had to labor through later.
YOU ALL, i swear to god, i'm not making this up. i JUST, like, just now, this very second, found out that the thing that was occupying all of my time that i was transitioning to someone else that i was freaking out about was continued. for 4 months.
so A) now i don't have to freak out about it; and B) there will MOS DEF be work for me to do upon my return; and C) i don't have to give it away to someone else because i like to keep things MINE MINE MINE.
