I know that some of you called it but it is official. We are Foster Fails.
The rescue got an app for Cricket and both David and I freaked out since we love him to death and can't imagine our home without him. Willow loves him too and they get along great. So I let the rescue know that we wanted to adopt him. The app was just the push we needed to make it official.
Since I know kevin arnold will be upset if there are no pics, here is one of Willow and Cricket sleeping together on the couch and another of Cricket and his toy.
They are so cute together! No shame in foster failing, as long as you don't do it with every one and become a hoarder, lol.
Unfortunately, adopting Cricket means no more fostering. Our house layout just isn't condusive id we would need to separate 3 dogs in spaces where they can't get into trouble or destroy anything. 2 works but 3 is a no go.

YESSSSSSS!!! We were such terrible foster fails that the rescue just asked us for pictures to put them on petfinder and I freaked. And as a pair, it probably would've been a while before anyone filed an app, but just the thought of them on petfinder and my blood ran cold. lol
Fun! I think we may end up failing with our current foster-his personality is so out of line with breed typical that there's been no interest in him. DH and I are in negotiations about how long he lives with us until he's basically our common-law dog and we just adopt him
He's a great guy, but SO energetic. Which is pretty much the opposite of what people want when they adopt a greyhound.
Awwww! Yep, this is why I can't foster. I'd want to keep all the dogs.
Friends of mine foster dogs and have two of their own (which they say is the only reason they don't end up trying to keep all the fosters) and I just have so so much respect for what they do. But I know it breaks their hearts a little every time one of their fosters gets adopted. Bittersweet, for sure.
Cricket is very pretty and looks like a good snuggler.
That could very well be but TBH that photo from the front is a bit of an optical illusion. His head and chest are big/wide (one of his nicknames is Melonhead) but from the shoulders back he is pretty delicate/skinny. We joke about how his front half and back half don't match. He is pretty tall and I always think of Staffies as being shorter and stockier. But really, all the bully breeds look pretty similar so we are just calling him our Brindled Mutt since people freak out at the words Pit Bull.
Here's a pic of him from the side (staring at a squirrel).
