California Grill is currently closed for renovations.
Boo When my stepbrother and SIL got married in Disney, their reception was at California Grill. Best wedding food I've ever had.
ETA: I've heard the Animal Kingdom Lodge is good as well as the Poly. When my family does Disney we usually get a much nicer hotel for a cheaper price than the resorts, but I feel like the convenience of the resorts is attractive if you have children.

Aren't the Disney moderates usually around $150 a night anyway? I have no complaints at all about the Port Orleans properties and I'm a prissy hotel-goer.
FWIW I've heard that the rooms at the Contemporary are the biggest and best appointed rooms on property. I like a little more theme if I'm going to go balls-out Disney, and I'm currently too cheap for the Deluxe resorts, but other than that I don't think it would be a bad place to stay. (When we go with kids and need the extra square footage and the monorail access, I will probably scrape together the extra money for the Polynesian or something but for now it's not worth it.)
