Caveat - I sound like such a grump on tv comedy lately (see my New Girl thread)
I was "meh" on this episode. The jokes and lines moved fast but I didn't think they really landed. Sometimes their frantic-ness is just annoying - like major FWP, get your shizz together people. I also hate when people are habitually late. It's so selfish.
Luke is like 13/14 right? How has he never been home alone?
However, couldnt they have sat down at the table and then gone outside to have their "moments". Seemed pretty lame and selfish to me.
I didn't see this as the characters being selfish. I saw it as poor writing and letting the "gag" go on too long. ANY restaurant, once it's clear that the entire party is actually there, would seat you. So what if someone decided to run outside? They'd still seat you.
That's why that whole bit bugged me.
I'm going back to last week - I LOVED the scene where Cam was on the phone w/ his sisters fiance. "Hi, this is Cam" and Mitchell going "Where?" and looking around. Then when he got off the phone, the hands and voice went back up and Mitchell goes "Oh, so we're going back to being gay".

I was on the floor!
Cam and Mitch's scenes are my favorite of the entire show. I love how they portray it as a real relationship with real everyday issues, but also work in some "gay stuff" (for lack of a better term) like dressing exactly alike, or that phone call.
Same here, I loved the whole "what do they think, we're over here taking our time getting ready like queens, listening to disco music?" five seconds later, 'ok Lily, hit it.' lol And Phil's tight suit? /dead
Ditto simpsongal and I'll take it a step further. I am not feeling this show this season. I did like the Cam and Mitch scenes, especially the final one, w/ Cam, Mitch, and the soda.

I loved this episode - especially at the end where they're all eating and dancing and just enjoying each other.
I see the flaws that others on the thread have pointed out, but given the reality of the relationships - for example, I would be right there with Jay, getting more and more frustrated as Gloria was late - I can deal with small illogical stuff like the restaurant not seating them.
And the scene with Haley and the boys singing and dancing? loved that!
