Right now I'm reading A Thousand White Women. It's about the program that Pres. Grant agreed to (and then reneged on) with Native Americans: One thousand white wives in exchange for one thousand Indian horses. The idea was to integrate the races and teach each the other their ways.
It's pretty good but it makes me so angry that this country has done such deplorable things to Native Americans.

Savage Beauty by Nancy Milford. Its about the wonderfully chaotic Edna St Vincent Millay. I am so in love with this book. So much so that I'm considering the name Edna or Vincent for my next child...or Millay. Ok, not really, but I do love this book and its subject.
I'm reading Game of Thrones now... on book #2. I think it's going to be a while before I can move onto anything other than this series.
I'm fighting starting this series, I know I'll love it and it will consume all my time I'll get to the first one soon though. I've just heard they're so good.

I'm 3/4 of the way through the first book. It's soooo good!
I read that! I'd totally forgotten about it until your post.
I just finished Unorthodox. It's a memoir of a woman who grew up Hasidic and left after her arranged marriage before 18, similar to Escape, but a different religion. Not the best book I've ever read, but I'm a sucker for any type of escape from oppressive background story.
I'm just trying to get through my pile of half finished Nat Geos now. And my backlog of New Yorkers.
