Has Sheldon always been so rude to Amy, or is this just a recent thing? I know he's standoffish but in their first few seasons together I don't remember him being quite so cruel to her.
I hope they're building up to Amy finally dumping him, because she doesn't deserve to be treated that way (even if Sheldon IS an oddball/sheltered/asexual/has Asperger's/whatever they want to go with). And then he'll either get his act together and treat her better, or they'll separate for good.
They might be building to him finally getting into a physical relationship with her - holding her hand when Howard went into space, the whole "You're odd but I like you for who you are" thing at her door a few episodes ago, the D&D role-playing, and then the first time they broke up he got all those cats because he missed her. But, still, I hate to see Amy put up with all his crap.
I thought it was real at first too. The whole "I've been distracted since knowing you" thing seemed completely plausible to me. But when he started talking about kissing, I knew it had to be a dream, lol.

I loved the song!
Amy's dream was funny. I said to my DH this can't be real can it? And then she woke up.
I think he's always been distant and short with her, but I agree he seems a little more mean these days. Though to be fair, in the beginning wasn't she totally on board with having a non-physical relationship. I think writers have changed the dynamic of their relationship with her now wanting more.

I believed it up until he said, "Like Mommies and Daddies do," and then I realized it wasn't real.
You're right - when they first met, she made a point of saying that sex was completely off the table, and then he offered to buy her a drink ("tepid water, please" - lol). I mean, one can't fault her for changing her mind once she met someone whom she was attracted to, but Sheldon also can't be blamed if that was their deal from the beginning. Even though by now he's well-aware that she wants a physical relationship. But I think they're building up to that, eventually, because if he was truly repulsed by the idea of sex with Amy then he would've jumped ship a long time ago. He's got no problem cutting people off (like when he realized that his friendship with Kripke couldn't get him a spot on the lab equipment ... and when he was willing to boot Raj from the group to keep it at a specific number when Kripke was joining).
Pom said: "Like Dr. Who without the Tardis"....I actually got a little choked up. Mr. Pom is out of town, and Howard's song for Bernie was totally awesome.
What's really funny is that I was talking to MH about Doctor Who about 10 minutes before that ... I said that it's on Netflix and I feel like I should get into it (I've watched two episodes so far) because there are so many pop culture references to it, and he sort of snorted and said, "Really, how many Doctor Who references are you seeing every day?" Then Howard sang that line and he gave me a sheepish look

Oh I agree, she totally has the right to change her mind. It will be really interesting to see how this plays out.

Dr. Who is totally a can't be missed staple at Chez Pom. I never watched it until the last few years and have really started to enjoy it more. H has been watching it since he was a young kid (he is 42) and I even caved in and got him a TARDIS cake for his birthday this year. I am very surprised how many pop culture references there are....the Whovians are everywhere! Bowties.are.cool.
