Haha, every time I'm retying my hair when working out I think to myself "don't break this motherfucker...DON'T break this motherfucker..." I would be royally screwed!
I usually put on lipstick anywhere I go because I look washed out without it. But otherwise, no makeup, plain old boring sweats, and it's a rare day that I brush my hair.
I go to a Crossfit place...no one there looks cute. I like that about it. I just wear whatever I already have on.
The gym I went to before was like 40% people wearing cute coordinated outfits and a lot of makeup just using the ellipticals or chatting. It was a weird atmosphere.
I like to wear a coordinated outfit. I'm oddly motivated by looking cute BEFORE I work out, and then looking like a mess after. I feel like I've worked out harder or something. This does not extend to makeup.
The only make up I have on is whatever is mascara from the previous day or from that day (when I go in the evenings). And my hair is always up, I would get ragey if it were down. I see some interesting get-ups here in China. Some people just come in in regular clothes, I've seen jeans, khaki shorts, button up shirts, etc., and many women have their hair down. Of course, those are the people who typically are walking about 2-2.5 mph for their entire workout, so I don't think they are working up a sweat as much as I am.

Sometimes, but that's only if I go in the afternoon. I don't remove my makeup before going to the gym, but I also certainly won't put on makeup if I'm heading straight to the gym either. I always have to put my hair up.
I tend to. Just because I go straight from work. I hope no one is judging me. If I go before work or on the weekend, I look like an exhausted 31 year old with no makeup and dark circles and bags under my eyes.
I won't wear foundation or powder because I don't want to get acne but I do wear whatever mascara, eyeliner and lipstick/gloss that I happen to have on. I actually always have at least a light lip color on.

I'm a sweatasurous so I'd never in a million years wear makeup to the gym. If I'm there after a day of work, I make sure to wipe it off or it will come dripping down my face. I don't care if anyone else is wearing it, but my gym tends to attract the hard-core (I'm the fattest there on some days and I'm only a touch overweight) so I think most of the women are there to lift/work-out versus look good.
No! But then again, I only wear a full face of make up twice a year or so.
IF I were to wear make up more often, I'd put it on after the gym (I go at lunch), not before. And I put my hair up in a poneytail and still sweat through it.
The women with the hair down and make up on at my gym are clearly there to flirt rather than exercise as they just jump from one machine to the next without really doing anything. I guess it's a good pick up joint.
I have a question for other people with long hair. Do you always put your hair up before a run/workout? I do because it would drive me absolutely BSC to leave it down, but I see girls at the gym on treadmills with their hair down all the time. How does it not annoy the hell out of you?
Not just in a ponytail, but in one of those cheerleader doorknocker ponytails so I can't feel it on my neck. I HATE the feeling of my sweaty hair. All the women with perfect hair are just not running hard enough.
It's in a pony at the gym, and most of the time even when I am not at the gym lol
If it's after work, then yeah, I'll have makeup on from putting it on before work.
If it's on the weekends and I'm working out first thing, nope, it's roll outa bed, throw on some workout clothes (who cares if they're coordinated or not), slap the hair in a ponytail or bun and GO!
I don't see that at my gym. But I wish I did! Better than looking at pitsweatstainsoaked tees and uglyrunface.
I didn't know that you worked out at my gym!! Why do you never say hi?
I work out at the university's gym, and you guys, you should SEE all of the girls who spend a half hour primping in front of the mirror before working out*.
* as far as I can tell, at least half of these workouts involve wandering the halls with friends and texting.
I go to the gym after work and I take my makeup off. I don't like the way it feels to have makeup sweating off my face. I also have very problematic skin so if I don't wash my makeup off when I workout then I breakout pretty bad.
Fuck no! I do see it at my gym, though. I don't get it. I would be so uncomfortable.
Make up on my face while I workout doesn't bother me or make me uncomfortable at all.
I'm typically just too lazy to wash it off before I go to the gym or workout, so I usually have a full face of makeup on. I don't wear foundation daily, but I put on a good amount of powder and visible eye shadow, liner and mascara.
I feel like women judge other women who have on makeup at the gym like it makes my workout less intense or valid. I don't get it.
LOL!! I'm not judging anything at all. Do what you want, I really don't care who wears make up and who doesn't. I'm just saying I can't imagine wearing it because would be incredible uncomfortable * for me *.
