I think the people on the other boards are saying that TN is happy because they are cleaning house. Some posters probably dont match with the image TN wants to have.
I dont know if the boards are going to fill up with activity anytime soon. I guess you can say that after wedding season, some girls might move over from TK but I wonder if they will if they see the boards are dead.
I think the Nest advertising dept is going to be extremely unhappy about this. There are a total of 32000 posts here so far. That's posts TN misses out on. Let's say that on average for every post that's written, people look at 10 posts/10 people look at a post/page for 1 response. That doesn't seem unreasonably high. People go to the board, check out if there's something new or not, go in, go out, look at things, post, look at posts again, lurk, etcetera. So conservatively the last 3 days they've missed out on about 100K pageviews a day. Probably much much more, but at least that. With their high volume traffic and ability to really steer their ads to the right consumers and such, I'm sure they only have super high CPM ads, so I'd say that it's at least 5K in ad revenue they're missing per day. Let's say no-one else moves from TN to here, and we keep having this amount of traffic, the conservative estimate is that their ad revenue goes down by about 100K a month. The sudden changes/drops in visitors, will make advertiser unhappy and they'll demand lower CPM campaigns (which they'll get because a low CPM campaign is better than them withdrawing their ads) (So the loss is more likely 150-200K a month if this trend continues.)
I have no idea how much TN makes, but if I were the owner, I sure as hell would be pissed as fuck if I'd be losing out on millions of ad revenue, just because the techies refuse to beta text. I'd be firing people, pronto!
