Parts of Air Force Academy is under evacuation

I cannot even begin to imagine the level of fear these people are faced with right now. Tim's grandmother and aunt live in Estes Park. There was a smaller fire there over the weekend and that was scary for us to hear.

Friends of ours got stationed at AFA when they evacuated from Cairo. Now they are evacuating for the second time in 18 months

They have three little kids- the youngest was just born a few weeks ago.

Anyone know if styme's wedding was able to happen as planned? I know she was worried about it because One of the fires were getting close to their location.

How close is any of this to Denver? I looked up the city proximity on a map; but still feeling dumb about exactly where the fire is to the city. My brother and niece live in Denver…

Yep...I believe everything went according to plan. The guests just needed to take a different route to get there. They were even featured on the local news because they were still going through with it.

If they actually live in the city of Denver, they are probably fine. CO Springs is far away from Denver, as is Boulder, and the other fires as well. Typically the fires are in the mountains, and the actual city of Denver is not all that close to the mountains (in terms of being in danger from fires)

It's 67 miles from (one of) the exit at the academy to the 16th st mall. I use to have to claim the distance on my travel reports. The area in between isn't really forested.

Thank you, ladies. I would hope that I would have heard something if their proximity was otherwise but it definitely puts my mind at ease; for them at least.
