We could adjust the pressure individually (to an extent) but not the temperature. Not 100% ideal but it made showering together about 10x better since H is a water hog.
ETA: It was inexpensive. < $100. Probably not what you're going for though.
You can build a thin dummy wall to place the plumbing behind - we've done this on two exterior walls. We have multiple shower heads in our master - we didn't do anything for pressure because we are on city water and live in a rancher. In our old house, we installed a special pump in the basement because we were on a well and needed to get the water up to the second floor and to feed two shower heads and 4 body sprayers.
We have a rain shower head in the ceiling, a detachable shower head on the wall, and body sprayers. The temp and water pressure are the same and we can only run 2 at a time.
I LOVE having more than one shower head. Especially when DH or one of our kiddos is in there with me.

My H was dying to have a shower that mimicked a car wash. To wrap the plumbing to the opposite wall and the ceiling, the lowest quote we got was 1k. Plus the additional shower fixtures would be around $500. We were also advised the water pressure would be rather low with the 8 fixtures we wanted. We eventually scraped the idea, and went with a huge rainfall showerhead with a detachable handheld sprayer. Personally, I love our shower and don't miss the multiple fixtures.
We had a bathroom remodel to change from one in the wall head to a rain shower overhead, a removable head on the wall, and two body jets in the wall.
When you do this, you need not only the temperature gauge/pressure to turn the water on/off, but also a seperate handle for choosing between heads. You can either do seperate handles for each head or one with multiple functions (what we did).
Our remodel included tile, master tub tile, plumbing, electrical to move the light and add a fan and came to around $4500.
We have a rain shower in the ceiling and then a detachable shower head. I don't notice a decrease in pressure at all but they're on the same temperature dial.
