Leo had his one month old appt and he is 6 lbs 9 oz lololol. What a little peanut. We also call him Kitten because he makes kitten noises all the time and they make me melt. When he gets really pissed he even spits like a little kitten which makes me laugh and laugh. That is the beauty of second children. With Jack if he got worked up I was practically hysterical with him. Now I am just like "oh Leo stop being dramatic."

It makes my heart so happy to read your posts about Leo and how content you are with you newly expanded family.
I kept DD home from school this morning to watch some construction going on in front of our house. She L-O-V-E-S any type of construction equipment right now, especially Bobcats. This morning a flatbed truck rolled up and 10 Bobcats drove off in perfect sequence and started ripping up our sidewalk. I thought that DD was going to die of excitment. We got our lawn chairs and ate oatmeal in the front yard and watched them work for 2 hours.
I would 100 times rather be watching my sidewalk be ripped up with DD than at work today. I cried when I got in my car after dropping her off at daycare today. (maybe that part belongs in a flameful.)
Aw you are such a great mommy. I love moments like this.
Volunteers help shelter dogs get adopted by keeping them sociable. It's a good thing!!!
Yeah, you're right. I'm definitely going to try to find a couple places around here.
Nama - I don't know about fostering because we rent and have to pay a pet deposit and let them know what kind of dog so having different ones in and out might not be ok. But it's something to think about, I'll ask our property manager.

We have trained all of our dogs to be with children. The just sit there, and as long as the child doesn´t pull on their ears or tails, they will remain seated until we leave. If they don´t want to be bother by the child, they will walk behind us and sit down. We also make sure that any child who wants to pet our dogs has to ask us first, otherwise, we won´t let them.
Ok, that´s not entirely true. We are in the process of training the third dog for just about everything, LOL.
But I am questioning if it looks like a skirt my 4 year old DD would wear and that is why I like it.
I saw someone wearing that at the gym last week. I didn't realize it was a running skirt at first, but after I thought about it I decided it was pretty cute!
Lets ignore the fact that your first child has four legs and eats kibble. He is your child. You adopted him. You saved his life.
What would you do if your human child was being aggressive to your non human child? Would you give her away? Probably not.
Make a point to spend some time with your dog daily without the baby around. It is possible that he's feeling like he's been replaced by this little creature that is now trying to play with him. Make sure that when you separate them, that he doesn't always get the shitty end of the stick. Maybe you separate them by having your husband watch the baby and you take the dog out and play fetch.
Training is important, but there are a ton of options that you have other than re-homing him. We have friends that have three dogs, one is aggressive when other dogs are around, one pees when there are visitors, and the other is a toy hog. They fenced in a large are in their yard so the dogs have room to run and play outside, they have a large bedroom when they are inside, and get individual attention. The aggressive dog is not allowed alone with their 4 yo just in case.
I second this. I only think rehoming should be an option if you have completely, and I mean completely, exhausted all other resources. If you don't have the commitment to the work it takes to provide for a healthy, happy pet, you shouldn't have gotten one in the first place.
