LOL! No one told me how much noise newborns make...I was unprepared for it.
So true! Even when sleeping, she is grunting or sighing, which means I am always half awake waiting to see if she's going to go back into a deep sleep or wake up.
this is why I had to move both boys away from the bed. Babies are so loud.
except for the dr.phil and the kitty paws on the boppy... I agree. The hover round commercials were also overabundant in my opinion.
I also SUPER agree with jillianashley6 about the wubanubs. They are THE best.
OMG on Hover round. My brother is on social security, so he's home a lot. He would sometimes call me when I was home and start singing the jingle that the old guy performs... "Hover round takes me where I want to go, where will it send me?" I die.
My big takeaway during Mat Leave was to somehow get my hands on a structured settlement and then sell it to JG Wentworth for big bucks.
Also Dr. Phil is definitely torture. Did you know he wrote a book called "Life Code" - I do, because he mentioned it EVERY SINGLE DAY.

HAHAHAHAHAHA.... THE LIFE CODE BOOK!!! omg. I can freaking recite all of the plugs he did for that book while i was on mat leave. AND H and i sing the JG wentworth song all the time. "if you have a structured settlement and you need cash NOW call JG wentworth, 877-cash-now!"
I feel like I ran back to work after number 3, because of all of those things. I needed a break. Ha. The difference in leave when you have only one versus more than one is astounding.
A) spitting up. B) writhing around, exercising his legs or something (as distinguished from D below). C) being half asleep and making a ton of noises that sound sort of like a combination between grunting old men and kittens to let me know if i don't engage in soothing activities RIGHT NOW he's going to launch into crying. D) crying and engaging in whole-body fussing. E) looking around quietly and being cute. my favorite.
A and C are his favorites.

Me too! I am hoping I get a quiet newborn this go round. Henry grunted all the time, asleep or awake. So for a ftm, I was always on edge, is he about to cry??? Is he???
My 5 week old likes to do all her awake/fussy/crying times when we absolutely have somewhere to be. Good thing that makes car rides with her so relaxing
I am still in watch lots of daytime TV mode. I need to put an end to this soon because I don't have maternity leave as an excuse. I can feel my brain turning to mush.
not mine. he's a WOLF. 10 minutes a side and BOOM, done. then he spits up. yay!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's how c was- she ate and moved on. But she was also always tiny and in motion. J, however, eats a TON and all the time. And poops all the time. C didn't. We've gone through a ton more wipes and diapers already.
And ups always arrives when I put c down for nap and am hoping j sleeps longer and then our dog starts barking and mini chaos ensues.
(It's my own fault though, I'm the amazon orderer here just so I don't have to go to the store for some stuff.)
I'm soooo sympathizing w the spit up and the nap-weirdness. The boys didn't really solidly nap at expected times until 5-6 months and then it was only for 45 minutes. When we moved to 2 naps around, I dunno, 8 months? it got a lot lot better.
And I'll admit, I kind of miss the peacefulness of sitting there watching crap tv while nursing. Now it's either kids shows on PBS or just trying to give a 2 yr old as much attention.
Those who said in the other post that kid 2 was more relaxing and made them take their time w stuff must not have had a toddler in their faces. I hope. Because I feel like its more hectic and making me sad because its my last time w a nb and I want that time to enjoy it.
I think i did more of that "slow it all down/enjoy the time" with c because I could than I am right now.
