What are you getting DH for xmas?

My ideas are a random orbit sander, replace the battery in his watch, beer glassware, Under Armour undershirts, and some stocking stuffers.

I think he has no ideas for me because last night he suggested that we just buy tickets to something as a joint gift. I'm very "meh" on that.

I told him I was going out and dropping ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS on myself for Christmas, too. His 'defense' was that these are the consoles DS will use to learn to play games.  He's a total dead man.

Considering how much we just had to shell out for the boat repairs and the fact that he is putting a stupid lift on his truck and needs new tires anyways, nothing. Oh, and he got another speeding ticket on his way home from work yesterday. I swear we just bleed money at this point. If I WAS going to get him something, some clothes, itunes cards, chocolate, stuff for the boat.

DH is fascinated by modernist cooking as seen on Top Chef and the like, so I am getting him a home kitchen starter kit so he can play around.

DH's birthday is next week. I got him a cord of wood, delivered and stacked, and a wireless speaker for his iPhone, so I can get rid of his circa 1988 stereo that takes up a shelf in the living room we never use. I have no idea what I am getting him for Christmas, but some of these ideas might work.

Golf clubs. In his stocking are a magazine subscription, leatherman, boxers, xbox gc, golf gloves, minecraft lego set, and a DVD.

A watch winder made out of some kind of exotic wood and lined with carbon fiber for his watches. Also an LV Epi belt.

We got each other new iPads for Christmas. I'm also getting him a pair of Uggs slip-ons, maybe a new pair of jeans and a sweater, possibly a new wallet. His birthday is right after Christmas so some of these will be birthday presents.

DH's computer is broken so we are getting him a new one.

I don't want to spend much because that is really stretching what we can spend. Thankfully I had a $100 Best Buy gift card tucked away so I used it to buy DH a new 2gb external hard drive. He has been wanting one and I figure it goes with the theme of computer for this year.

I already ordered him the Sephora cologne sampler. 

Other ideas: slipper socks and wool socks, car emergency kit, Under Armour undershirt, beer (2014 Anchor Christmas Ale, probably), maybe a sweater. Yankee Candle has a scent called "On Tap" that smells like draft beer. 

Stocking: a "security screwdriver" () since he complained about not having one when he had to take apart our coffee maker this morning to fix it. Probably some candy and any other fun small items I can find. I will browse Home Depot to look for small tools and paintbrushes.

We also give each other an ornament every Christmas, usually themed around a vacation or an inside joke from the whole year. I want to get one made of reclaimed wood from Muir Woods, but the shipping is just as much as the ornament, ugh.

I'm trying to knit a new colourful pair of socks in secret for him, so he won't know they're coming.

We'll see if that happens, though - there's not much time left, and I have projects needed for a baby-shower (that is before Christmas), and other knitted gifts for other family members... And, DH will soon begin "clearing" from the base here, which will increase his time at home.


I'm hoping to get a lot knit on my business trip next week. *crosses fingers*
