Both of my kids play hockey. Sign up fees are $650 per kid, plus 2 out of town tournaments for each (with rooms and food, a good 4 or 5 hundred per trip) plus equipment. Every year someone always needs something new, it usually totals about $200 per kid. And due to growth (and use) they always need a new stick, thats $100 a pop too. Grand total for the year is about $1500 per kid, assuming no one has had a major growth spurt. Although my 12 year old has grown almost a full head taller since last season, and I fear in September he will need all new equipment. Ugh!

DD #1 takes Tae Kwon Do lessons. We pay around $1600/year for it, that gets us two lessons per week year round. There are additional fees for equipment and belt testing (she should be testing for her black belt next month and that costs $450 plus the fees for 2 passport pictures and the 10 boards she needs for the test). She also participates in Girl Scouts. I guess I pay around $200/year for that to cover membership fees, vests/patches/pins/workbooks, and some of their activities. Other activities are pay-as-you-go but all of those are optional and we have skipped some of the more expensive ones.
DD #2 takes swim lessons at a cost of around $300 for a 10 week session. She'll also restart gymnastics in the fall (they don't do summer classes) and that's anywhere from $75-$125/mo based on how many class meetings fall within that particular period.
Both of the girls are doing some summer camp this year. DD #1 has Girl Scout camp, $160 for two weeks. Then they will both attend camp at #1s Tae Kwon Do dojang, $130/week each (which given the amount of time they can be there each day and the activities that are included is still a major bargain around here).
We also have passes to the local zoo to keep us busy, $90 each for the girls and a bit more for mine. Each visit costs us another $5 or so in animal feed.
Finally there are the occasional school-sponsored activities we sign them up for. DD #1 just did a robotics class in May/June for $160, and she wants to join Girls On The Run in the fall, so toss in another $160 for that. DD #2 has started asking about being a Girl Scout Daisy, so if she keeps that up and I find her a troop there'll be more fees for that.
Thank goodness we're done with preschool tuitions and my kids are too young for/nowhere near getting phones, iPods, etc.
Ds does not do any extra curricular activities yet (he is 3) so other than our annual zoo membership he is cheap (well daycare is $202 a week, but that is a different story).
Next April he will start T-Ball. We heard it costs about $100 to register and then we will have to buy him equipment. I think I am more excited than he will be.
My DS is only 3, so other than daycare (which I realize is not a real activity), he just does swim lessons once a week for 6 weeks, which was $50. Next summer he will do soccer and swimming.
