I thought that it was pretty funny overall, but some smaller things bugged me. The marriage plot was a little out of left field. Did Penny say that they were drunk when they did the Elvis ceremony, or that she just thought it was fake? Wouldn't she and Zack have to apply for a legal marriage license before the ceremony? (Do they only do those at official offices in Vegas, or does the chapel take care of it?) Zack's bonehead reactions were funny ... "Oh no, are you dying???"
I wish the show would stop making fun of Raj. I know he's got serious self-esteem issues, but he puts up with a lot of crap. Bernadette constantly eating the marshmallows was funny.
I was surprised that Sheldon accepted the beer from Mike without any protest about how he doesn't drink. I thought he would've said something like, "I don't drink, but I've been told that refusing this kind of offer would be rude, so I'll go along with it."
I thought they were going somewhere with that horrible slave comparison. I'm glad that they had Amy point out numerous times that it was completely inappropriate, but I don't get why they just dropped it after they got to the Wolowitz house. I thought they'd reach a point where Sheldon fully understood how terrible it was for him to say that.
I also thought he was going to kiss or hug Amy while he was drunk. I get the point of Amy smirking when he slapped her butt, but it left a bad taste in my mouth (similar to the episode a while back where he spanked her for lying about having the flu). I get that she's happy to receive any kind of physical contact from him since he never gives it, but I don't want to see her become a doormat just for some butt contact.

Overall I thought it was a really funny episode.
I agree with the above, it would have been more realistic from a character standpoint if Sheldon said that.
I liked this week's - thought it was pretty funny - good one liners. But I thought they'd shown Sheldon drinking before, no? At the bar at The Cheesecake Factory?

You are correct, he was drinking at The Cheesecake Factory and kept spitting it back out in to his glass. Then he'd take another drink. Repeat. ::gag::
He drank a shit ton of wine at an awards banquet and took off his pants.

I remember him getting drunk at the awards banquet but I thought he was tricked into it?
I also remember him ordering virgin piƱa coladas at TCF.

Penny also gave him a bunch of Long Island ice teas in an episode. I think he didn't know there was alcohol in them. He got drunk and then threw up at Will Wheaton's house. He's definitely drunk before, but usually unknowingly.

To obtain your marriage license, both parties must appear in person before a Clerk at a Clark County Marriage Bureau location.
This is inconvenient for Hollywood, so this fact is often ignored for the sake of advancing the plot.

I thought it was really good. I didn't understand the whole "slave" thing, though- it didn't go anywhere... I was glad to see Sheldon loosening up. Loved the throwing up on clowns line!

Isn't this somewhat new though? I thought they changed the law (sometime after Britney Spears got married) making it more difficult to have a drunken, not thoughtout wedding.

Beats me. I would guess noticeably intoxicated people would be denied a marriage license, and it's probably frowned upon for chapels to marry noticeably intoxicated people, but money talks.
H and I got married in Las Vegas in 2005 and it took us all of five minutes to get our marriage license.
