My step dad had a stroke this summer. He is very dedicated to his exercise both in and out of therapy. Still has a great deal of weakness in one of his arms. My friend today sent me some info about using Wii games in some therapy programs and I can't believe I didn't think of this before. We don't have a system, but have used it at a friend's house.
Dad is 77 and we are probably going to buy him the console and some games so when we go see my parents in Florida next week, we can set it up and get him going with it. They do not use the internet and are pretty resistant to most things although he likes playing on his phone and GPS, so I think it could work out.
It seems like the Wii mini should be a good option for him and of course I am seeking your opinions. Also I was wondering about games you think would be of interest and good for him?
I used some of this list for my son when he was in physical therapy to pick games.
Thank you so much, very helpful.
Np, also Wii fit would be pretty good, they have a lot of different games. A good friend of mine suffered two strokes, and is in a assisted living home, and I know they have a Wii too, just get a few games with lots of different types of things on them. If he is relearning things, like my friend after his first one, maybe a Ipad, you can get a first gen refurbished really cheap, and a lot of the toddler apps could be helpful, and tons of free ones for those.
