I dont particularly love THAT KS bag, but I do love her bags. I have two of them- one is black, the other is a neon yellow for the summer that I love. I really love the feel of the leather. I've had the black bag for 5 years now and it still looks new.
I got one as a gift, and the other at Bloomies so no help about the website.
I have the cobble hill leslie in a dark grey and really like it. I got a screaming deal on it during a KS sale on their website. I've only had it about 4 or 5 months but it's a gorgeous bag (IMO).
I have two KS bags and I love them both. One's just now a year old and the other I got at Christmas. I am a big fan. They are cute and have held up well. As for best price, KS has a lot of FF sales. I know there was one in May last year around this time because I ordered one on sale for my birthday. I think the colors sell out on the site but not other retailers (Nords or where ever) so check those too.
One of my bags is an outlet bag (the one I got as a gift) and I do feel the quality is slightly lower than the one I got at Bloomingdales, but I still think its made well.
OHHH does the website have good deals? Sales and all?
Yes. There are coupon codes on a fairly frequent basis. And they have "sample sales" on the website, but I think they may be final sale (and you have to be careful about reading the fine print because some bags are made for the outlet and are of lower quality -- but that isn't an issue if you have a bag picked out already).
I currently have two Kate Spade bags. I got one at the outlet and I suspect it was a made for the outlet bag because the quality is very meh. The other bag is much nicer. I think non-outlet bags are good quality for the price.
I got one made for the outlet too (but from the KS site) and I cannot tell the difference at all. Perhaps because it came from the site and not a store?
I have a KS diaper bag and like it. It's held up very well. I like the cobble hill line, but it seems that KS has frequent online sales so I'd wait a few weeks to see if you can get a deal.
I have three that I like quite a bit and I like to buy purses so I'm definitely not one to talk you out of a purse you love. I bought mine at the sample sale though because I'm not wed to color/style but rather what I like that's on sale. If you love it and can afford it I don't see why you shouldn't splurge on yourself.
I feel like I've seen that exact one on the online sample sales before. Unless you can't stand the wait, it may be worth seeing if one rolls around soon. It seems like they pop up every few months, and it's been a while since the last one.

I have one Kate Spade purse in tan leather and I LOVE it. I got it from the website during one of the major sales events. I've been using it since December and it has held up incredibly well so far. My favorite purse purchase yet.
I am a self-admitted Coach whore, but I'll also admit that I cheated on Coach w/ Kate Spade. I have 3 KS bags, plus my baby bag (I HATE Coach baby bags). All leather, none of the signature crap for me of either brand. Agree w/ +v+ that it's a good idea to read the fine print re: outlet v. regular retail bags (I got hit by that--didn't read carefully enough, ended up giving it to a friend for her birthday). Also agree that there are coupon codes often, usually 25% off, and that with KS sample sales, they are final sale items. You can sign up for emails to alert you to sales/codes/sample sales.
I LOVE the leather of my KS bags: I have a cement-gray Liv (bought at the last sample sale) and a taupe Bernie (purchased at Nordstrom Rack). They are a little bit pebbled, and whereas I usually like smooth bags, it's just enough pebbling that it doesn't show the dings but doesn't bug me. I also like the small KS logo on her bags. It's even smaller than Coach on some designs. Both of my leather bags have the feet on the bottom so I don't worry about setting it down.
Hope that helps...let me know if you want more opinions, have other questions, etc.
The leather is so much prettier IRL. I fully admit to copying Gypsy, who has the same bag in a cream color. It's pretty clearly Chanel-inspired, but at 1/10 the price of a Chanel bag, it's all I can afford
And here is my KS, bc I love it so, I want to share. It's perfect for people that live out of their bags. And I don't think it looks like a diaper bag at all.
I have one black Kate Spade bag I like, the Evangeline. I also like the bag you linked to. Admittedly that is because it bears a passing resemblance to the Tom Ford bag I wish I owned. The Tom Ford bag costs 10x or so what the KS bag does.
I am a lover of Kate Spade bags. I probably own 6 or 7, plus some shoes...the last time I was in NYC, I found a few that I love at Century21. I've also had good luck at the online Kate Spade sample sales, which I get emails about every so often.
I'm so happy she moved away from the boring black bag that was The IT bag of the late 90s.

I have this bag in Eggplant, and bought it for the exact reason you posted. I really want the quilted Chanel, but I just can't bring myself to spend the $5000+ necessary to obtain it. I bought this at the last KS Sample Sale, and it has satisfied my desire for the Chanel for the moment, though I'm sure at some point I'll be drooling over the quilted bag again.
I have 2. One is a Stevie and the other I am not sure about. I love them and think they hold up really well. They have friends and family sales a couple times a year.

I don't have that specific bag, but I have a few KS and I love them. One in particular (green Stevie) is a few years old and I get more compliments on it than any other bag I own (even ones that were way way more spendy).
The last bag I purchased has a cheap zipper that doesn't zip smoothly. I believe ijack had a similar problem?
I did and they were really great about offering to fix it or replacing the bag (however they no longer had the color available). I found that after some use it loosened up and I haven't had any issues with it.
