I wore loose fitting workout pants and a t-shirt. Maybe a bra? I do have a few photos of me right after leaving the hospital, but that was because MH took pictures of our dog meeting the baby.
If you are normally someone who dresses up for stuff and you want some pictures to reflect that, then go for it. I am so not that person so a cute outfit was not anywhere on my radar.
So many yoga pants in this thread, are these maternity yoga pants? The sole pair I own are pre-pregnancy and I seriously doubt I fit in them now.
I have some full panels from motherhood and then some non maternity knit pants from target a size up. I didn't want to stretch out my non-pregnancy yoga & knit pants.
Something that: - hangs from the shoulders, not the waist (so it doesn't touch my c-section wound) - allows for nursing - is a dark color to hide blood stains
Last time, I brought my maternity yoga pants and a nursing top but couldn't wear them. (The waist band would have been painful. Plus, I couldn't bend at the waist because of the c-section wound and couldn't control my legs because of the labor complications). My mom had to bring a dress from home. I'm not making that mistake again. Hairy legs were the last thing on my mind. Hell, they wheel you out in a chair so you can throw a blanket over your legs while in public. On the other end we have a garage.
I wore a nursing dress and flip flops. It worked great except I couldn't figure out how the faaark to use the damn thing for nursing. Like, how do I hold open this slit and latch on a flailing newborn at the same time. At least 5 hands would be required.
Also, not a single picture featuring my face has been taken since kiddo was born. If I get the time tonight I will take a picture with him since today was my official due date. Lol.
All I know is, I'm entering the hospital with my maternity pants, and I'm leaving with them, too
You say this now, but a dramatic water break can wreck even the best clothing plans ;-)
My water broke before I got to the hospital and I changed after that. Later when we left the hospital I found the outfit I wore into the hospital shoved in a plastic bag under the bassinet thingy. It was...a little rank and not for wearing.
I wore a maxi dress and light tie front sweater. I figured it was a good outfit to pack in case I had a c-section so nothing would be sitting on stitches.

It will be frigid in January when my baby gets here. I would like to wear comfy pants and a warm shirt - I like the hoody idea. With my husband's ugly black coat over everything so I stay warm.
I would love to look like the Princess. I even have a polka dot maternity dress like hers and have been growing out my hair and found a fabulous straight iron to make it look like hers, but it will be absolutely impractical in January. Also, since I had a chance to visit the hospital a few weeks ago for some tests, put me in the "get the f outta here" camp. My doctor's have also started to throw the words "C section" at me so if I end up with one of those, the drawstring pants sound like a really good idea.
This thread reminds me that I need to buy my new camera.
Mine are, but I think anything with give in the waist and an ability to sit high or low would work. I don't know your size or financial situation, but if neither is a huge factor, you may want to take advantage of one of Old Navy's endless holiday sales to grab a cheap pair or two in a size or two up-- lounge pants w/a drawstring could work if your waist is usually not the biggest part of you. That way, you can tie it more loosely than normal if need be. That was Plan A for me, but I waited too long to order them so they will greet me when I return home later today. I think they worked out to about $16 a pair-- kind of silly for something I'll wear only a few times, but not too bad in the grand scheme of things. I figure I will probably wear them for the next few weeks, especially before my belly shrinks more.
I also agree with pretty much everything sonrisa said in terms of considerations.

Eeek!! I need emergency maternity pants. Or a fellow pregnant pants person!
I might start driving with a spare pair of pants in my glove compartment this week along with a plastic bag to cover the carseat. (My water broke as I stepped out of the car last time).
