"I was thinking about getting off on demand, but it sounds like I should be glad that I didn't"
"Is this the kitchen?" No jackass we all have dishwashers in our master bedroom
"These hardwood floors are beautiful! oh they aren't hardwood? That is a dealbreaker, and that is going to be an expensive fix" uh if you can't tell the difference, then clearly it is not something that needs to be replaced. You liked it until you found out that it wasn't wood
I hate how hating new builds is the cool thing to do, because these houses "don't have character" It is so fucking annoying. There are plain old houses too.
Lol. I'm one of those douches who hates new builds. But I don't go on TV bitching about it! So...I get some points??
LOL it's cool. I hate old houses, so we are even. lol

Is it normal in the real world to ask the seller to pay all or some of your closing costs? Because I had never heard of this until watching HH. We did not request this when we bought our house. I asked our realtor if this is common and she was like "Ummm...."

In our area it is. Everyone that put an offer on our house wanted closing covered. Our realtor told us to expect it because we were just at the top of most first time home buyers budgets and they're the ones who typically ask.

I think our seller paid some of our closing costs, a set amount. I think we used it as a way to get the price down a bit. (I don't remember details like that very well though).
Walking into the master bathroom and one of the potential buyers (usually the woman) says "It doesn't have double sinks. We're going to have to redo this whole bathroom."
I'm sure double sinks are nice to have (not knocking them) but it's a deal breaker?
What irks me is the first time homebuyers who not only want, but practically demand, an upgraded or brand-new McMansion on a tiny little budget...and yes, the OMG, construction! makes me want to reach into the TV and strangle these jackasses.
I do have to laugh though that lately, they are showing more of these little sidebars or cuts to the realtor and you can just see him/her roll their eyes at the folks that want to live in the land of naivete but cannot afford.
walk in, it's 2x2x7 and there's a w/d in there too
I LOVE the international ones!
Couple names a ridiculously low budget for the trendy, central part of the city they want to live in. Agent stifles laughter, then shows them a postage stamp-sized studio apartment that's still 2x their budget.
And the shock when they find out that European kitchens are itty bitty, don't always have dishwashers, etc.
When the realtor shows the couple something over budget, the couple likes it even though it's too expensive and say, "well, it's something to think about."
"This kitchen is SO small, this will never work. We love to cook TOGETHER and look.. there's no way to have the oven AND refrigerator doors open at the same time!!" ::demonstrates doors colliding::
They always make some joke about how the woman needs a huge closet ("This closet is enormous...we'll have to find a place for Steve's clothes, har har."), but all you see her wear is ribbed turtlenecks and mom jeans. How many pairs of mom jeans do you have?
Another peeve I have with the show is the people who freak out if the place is $10k over budget....really, it's not all that much when the payments are spread out over the years.

Or their shoes which are 9 times out of 10 obviously from Payless and nothing that requires a fancy Carrie Bradshaw-esque shoe closet.

This woman was insufferable. I live here and the horses are often retired race horses who were going to be euthanized, but have instead been saved and our very well cared for. Her refusal to live in an area wheretours happen, left her with not much. The house they bought was smack dab in the middle of the college of charleston campus and old historic houses divided up into apartments for the students lol.
