Related question: when you go do the gyn for your annual exam and they ask when your last period began, are you like me and have that split second thought "DAMMIT! I meant to write it down or something this time! I DO THIS EVERY YEAR!!!!"
I'm always like, uhhhh, can I look at a calendar?
I just went to the doctor last week and when they asked me I totally fumbled all over myself trying to think on the spot. I ended up telling them I haven't had my period in over 18 months when in reality it was like 3 week ago.
I do the same, followed by "I think?". But my cycles are all wonky and range from 28 - 70 days. Yay PCOS! My PCP asks me for the date of my last period too, and when I struggle to remember (or its been awhile) ask my 19 million times if I'm SURE I'm not knocked up.

Every.Damn.Time. Thankfully, I chart so I always have it on the ap on my phone, but you'd think I would look before I go in.

Yep! I feel very proud of myself if I remember to look before I go, and then I smugly write it on the form.
But, seriously, "on my period" is just grammatically incorrect and weird.
Hmm...well, if you consider the word period to mean the period of time that you are menstruating, I suppose saying that you're on that period of time seems correct.
I am currently on the week that I menstruate. I currently have the week that I menstruate. ?
Maybe? No?
OK, I will accept on if it's phrased as "I am currently on the week in which I menstruate". Otherwise, you gotta say "have my period".

last time I went to the gyn, I knew the date of my last period and she asked if I was sure, and I said yes, I remembered to check the calendar. and she was SO IMPRESSED.
