I woke up with a wicked hangover, so H made me some food and brought it to me in bed. I'm planning on switching locations from the bed to the couch, and that's the extent of what I'm doing today.
It's hard having a baby and not having any family (or friends that live within 10 minutes from here). It's lonely and boring.
I'm sorry Mel It is very isolating. I hope you make some local friends soon. Not sure if you are in cold climate (NYC?), but if so (I am in cold climate) try the library for mommy and me story time.
We're getting a pair of Weimaraner puppies this spring. One is coming from here, the other is coming from a breeder in Germany. DH just told me the breeder here in the U.S. called to tell him that her female came into season early so if it "takes," we could have a new puppy in 4 short months. the Germany puppy will likely be ready for us to pick up in June. So excited, can't believe I'm basically back doing the "2 week wait" over a dog.

H and I got into an argument about shoveling the driveway. Not what you would expect either. I wanted to go out and do it for some fresh air, exercise, and getting out of the house. He kept trying to tell me no. Not because he was about to go do it, just because, no.
Well I don't know who the joke is on. I went out and did it, and it felt great btw, but it's snowing like a motherfucker now and is going to need done again in a a few short hours or less.
Getting real tired of your lazy ass shit H, real tired.
I just spent hours reading the CEP thread. Holy time suck.
I am not familiar enough with all of the posters for it to make sense. Anything earth shattering? I gathered a reg (joshlyman) and her H posted here and then got divorced and then CEP wrote fan fiction? wtf
Huh. I was listening to Wrecking Ball in the car and I just realized that she says "break your walls" and not "break your balls". She very clearly says walls, yet this while time I've been singing balls.
I'm making Chex Mix and my house smells amazing! I'm switching back and forth between Little Mermaid and Fast and Furious 2.
Ds has a weird rash or something on his face! I'm not sure if it's from sucking his thumb or what. This picture was right after he got up from his nap. It's a bit better now but still there!
We're going to look at a new car to see if I can get rid of this POS Mazda cx5. Cross your fingers!! Then we're going to a Straight No Chaser concert tonight.
I'm glad your daughter had fun. She looked great!
Love Straight No Chaser! They did a Christmas concert at a high school here a few years ago. It was fantastic!

I am insanely jealous! I have a weimaraner (used to have 2) and I want 17 more. Have you had weimaraners before? You have to post many, many pictures once you get them.

I'm feeling all guilty because a pinterest-y type party is probably not happening for D's third birthday.
We're driving down to my parents house to have the party because all of our family is down there. We'll be driving down the day before and then driving back home the day after. It's a 6+ hour drive one way. I wanted to do a really cute carnival theme, but the closer I get the more I just want to say screw it all and do pizza and cake. But I don't know if that would be really lame. Especially because there will be at least 10 kids there 6 and under and I feel like I should have something for them to do.
Something is wrong with my sinus. It has been hurting for 24 hours and argh. It feels like something is stuck in it. WTF do I do? wait more? I want to pull it out of my head.
I've just never heard the term used in a singular fashion. Where is it?maxillary sinus
Maxillary sinus.
Wouldn't more than one sinus be sinuses? I mean, I don't have a college degree or anything.
Yeah. I meant I've only heard people talking about "sinus pressure/pain" when referencing general discomfort in their sinuses, like all over or in a major region.
That sucks. I hope it drains a little overnight. At my ENT they have a cool diagram of how they can flush out problem sinus cavities with an inpatient procedure though. They use a little balloon to expand the entrance/exit, then thread a little tool in there to kind of power wash it. So, you're not doomed?
My son (3rd grade) got a composite score of 97 on the standardized test he took in the fall (the Iowa assessment..ITBS) and I did some goggling and I'm thinking this is something that deserves some more digging but I don't want to be "that mom" at his school.

We've always had weims. We usually have an older and a younger Weimaraner but in Sept our 6 yo weim had a cyst that ruptured in his leg. He could not fight the infection because we discovered he had lymphoma and he was not producing white blood cells. We had to put him down. He was such a beautiful animal. This is him:
Our old girl is 14 and she misses her buddy very much. She is on the smallish side for a weim (50 pounds) and very snugly. She is a granddaughter of Arco, one of William Wegman's dogs.
This will be the first time we've had two puppies at the same time though.

This is actually the worst part. Most of the posters meant nothing to me. I got sucked in when someone over here mentioned joshlyman was an old reg (which I hadn't noticed before, apparently this is not new information). By page 45, I didn't even want to read it anymore, but I did out of a compulsion to complete it.
I made little felt ornaments for my nieces, bright coloured and fun (for me) and now I wonder if my sister (who's vehemently anti junk and a staunch minimalist (with two extraordinarily girly daughters) will hate it and will throw it away. My intention is that they have ornaments when they're older and get their own tree, but sister's tree is very coordinated so I doubt she'll put them up, but hopefully they'll go in their room somewhere.
I did learn from past year and got them both the same present. Santa must have run out of ideas, methinks.
