My grandparents said privates but my mom did as follows; *looks around to see if anyone is watching* lean down close and whisper, just above inaudible, "vagina" *looks around to see if anyone heard*

On a whole we didn't discuss body parts in my family and that is ok with me. But when she did, it was the softest whisper ever.

Whoa, lightbulb! My grandparents (who lived in Germany for a time while Gpa was on a tour for peacekeeping) often used to say popo refering to butt. Had no idea it was an actual term and not made up! I have no recollection as to what my parents called the private parts though. I think it was 'peepee' when we were really little.

I think generically it was privates or bottom. But they used anatomically correct names when the need for specificity arose.

We also weren't allowed to say pee and poop. My parents thought those words were crass. Potty and BM (for bowel movement).

Ya I am kinda shocked that so many know what their grandparents called their privates. The only thing I remember was my mom calling our prinvates a "tinkler" lol. As if you only ever tinkle from them lol it seemed so normal but now it blows me away.

My son calls his parts his penis and his balls. Balls is crass but that is what they are. lol he is 8.

My grandparents died before I was born or when I was really young so I never had this converstation with them.

I can't remember what my mother referred to them as. Probably not vagina because I don't think I've ever heard her utter than word in her life.

I use penis (and vagina, we don't talk about those too much) for my boys.


My bff's H is a pedi and he hears CRAZY things that people call them. His stories are rather funny.
