I've flown EasyJet A LOT. Like every other weekend for 10 months. What do you want to know about them?
My impression is that they are marginally better than RyanAir. You definitely want to read the fine print about what you can take as carry-on/hand baggage. In the UK it has to be certain dimensions, but there's no weight limit (though in some countries there may be a weight limit? not sure). Even if your carry-on bag is small enough, they might still make you check it if the flight is full and they are worried about overhead bin space.
You don't get any checked bags unless you pay a fee. And there's a booking fee. You definitely want to print out your boarding pass before you go. I wouldn't bother with Priority Boarding -- you will automatically board early if you are traveling with someone who needs assistance or have kids under 5. I've always been general boarding and have never had a problem getting a good seat that I want.
Generally the aircraft are nicer than RyanAir (real seats that actually recline, though not a lot of leg room), and the onboard staff is helpful. I've never had a flight that was heavily delayed or cancelled, so I can't speak to how well they handle that.
All of my EasyJet experiences have been neutral to positive. I've never had any NEGATIVE experiences with them, but you definitely want to read their policies so you know what to expect.
I've flown them too, and while I prefer to fly other carriers, I do still fly them if the price is significantly better.
I prefer other carriers because I tire of the nit-picky BS with carry-on baggage. Unless I'm going somewhere for longer than 3 weeks or so, I take only a carry-on.. and as a result, my backpack is sometimes a little more stuffed than certain carriers would like, and then I get to play the "let's put on five shirts, etc." game to decrease the size of my bag. It's silly maybe, but I also hate being charged to check my bag when it's literally a difference of a kg or a few cm.
Aside from carry-on restriction nonsense, they're fine. I also prefer carriers that give me a soda and some crackers for free, but if the fare is $50 more, I'll bring my own snacks.
Win't fly them unless I really can't help it. With all the extra fees, they're hardly ever actually cheaper, but definitely suck in service. Only when I need a 1way at the very last minute. (Like when I had to miss mt flight back due to a funeral. )
I ditto everything that's been said. I think that their service has actually deteriorated. Although it could be Naples. Last time I flew, the would NOT issue me a boarding pass 55mins prior to my delayed flight. Total cluster!!
Agree with previous posters. Check the fine print, price it up. I think they are I've for short flights. Not had a bad experience with them and prefer Easyjet to Ryanair.
For a low cost airline I'd pick Easy Jet over Ryan Air any day. They seem to have fewer hidden fees (they still have some, but not as many imo) and things have gone more smoothly when I've flown Easy Jet.
I would only use it for weekend trips or trips where I wasn't taking any luggage though.

Ditto Popcorn. I flew Edinburgh to Paris for £20 more on Air France compared to easyJet.
I have flown easyJet before and they're not half as god awful as RyanAir. If you ever have the chance fly Norwegian. They are amazeballs.
I've flown them once (this past May to London) and it was fine. Nothing extraordinary to say in either direction. The price was almost exactly the same as Norwegian, and I agree with rita, Norwegian is ultra fab. The reason we picked EasyJet over Norwegian was the timing of the flights, since they each only had one flight on the days we wanted.
I fly EasyJet and RyanAir tons - there aren't that many direct flights from Edinburgh and I'll choose direct over a HRW layover any day. EasyJet is fine, just check the rules and there won't be any surprises. They are definitely nicer than RyanAir.
I've flown easyJet a few times with different people and to different cities within Europe. I will say that as others say, it works well for a certain kind of travel, particularly when traveling lightly. I definitely have considered it only when I won't have much luggage.
I've never flown RyanAir, too many bad stories and it's really not my thing. I have friends who love it, they are also the kind of people who love "cheap at all costs" stuff like hostels, McD's and cheap apartments in sketchy neighborhoods. (Nothing wrong with that, just not my style).
I really liked the time that I flew with AirBerlin, it's definitely my favor budget carrier so far though I rarely have an excuse to use it. If you find that easyJet works for you, bear in mind that it's the kind of airline where you have to think, "Watch it, Grandma!" and, "Quit blocking the aisle, Gramps." If you want a particular kind of seat depending on how full the plane is. But no, I've never had a bad flight with easyJet. It is on my list of airlines for when it applies.
EasyJet is fine, just be careful with baggage restrictions. I just flew on them Tuesday, everyone was nice. We took off late but we would have landed early, but we had to go-around the airport in GVA due to an airplane in front of us still on the runway. We landed about 10 minutes late. This was the first time I've been on a late EasyJet flight, and it was for an unavoidable circumstance.
And the flight attendants/pilot handled the go-around well. The FA immediatly told everyone that it was a normal procedure, etc and we would have information soon. A couple minutes later the pilot told us what happened, apologized and got us on the ground in about 10 minutes.

I appreciate it when the pilot gets on the speaker and let's you know what's going on. We spent 2 hours waiting in-line for take-off because of fog. It was nice that the pilot was giving us updates.
